Nameless
riverroyal I can't see the prices going up. Football is changing, the live midweek games put some people off attending when it's on the red button and the fact season ticket holders can bring other supporters along for £10 for these games means that if you are a season ticket holder (unless you go to all 23 matches) it probably isn't worth the saving it once was.

It’s £15 a game as an adult STH. That saves £5 a game minimum. The odd game where you can save an extra fiver if you can get a STH tobuy you a ticket hardly compares to the overall saving.

Generally speaking the ones where you get the £10 deals are the games that season ticket holders themselves are inclined to miss. Cold wet Tuesday nights when the game is on TV.

For me it's a no-brainer. I like having the same seat, and not to have to faff around getting tickets for each game. I like getting priority when it comes to buying one-off tickets (playoffs, FA Cup etc)
Even if I thought I'd miss more than a quarter of the games, it wouldn't be a saving as such, but I probably would still do it for the convenience.

Maybe missing more than half the games would be a cut-off, but I've not been in that position.

But all in all, I don't think any Reading supporter can complain about our ticket prices in the last 15-20 years - we've never been treated like cash-cows.

Elm Park Kid Why would any fan want season ticket prices to increase?

Theoretically because they think the club could use increased revenue. And because they think the tickets are underpriced in terms of reasonable value.

My ST was £325 last season. I looked online at ST prices for a lot of lower division clubs and could not find a single one as low as my ST price and that of my son. The club don’t get much credit for the pricing structure which is brilliant value.

EDIT I actually paid £305 for my renewal and £59 for my son. So the combined price was less than FGR and Swindon Single ST price. That’s why I bang on about it. We are very lucky.

If you think about it though - it's a perverse situation where ordinary people want to hand over more of their money so that multi-millionaire owners need to use less of their's to pay people £20k a week.

If all clubs just agreed price caps then salaries would fall to more sensible levels and the game would continue as normal.

why would bigger clubs sign up for something that limits their ability to outperform smaller clubs?

They don't get enough credit and we are very lucky. Which is why I hope they don't raise it from them thinking it's not being appreciated.

Also, anyone who buys a season ticket to Forest Green Rovers is an utter cretin.

What about people who pretend they bought a season ticket to Forest Green Rovers?

It's a reasonable extrapolation from the available data.

We are fortunate. If it goes up a bit this season then I won’t be too bothered. An ST at my home town team, Dover Athletic in the National League is £340, more than my renewal last season. The quality of both the football and the facilities are just not comparable, yet the ST price to actually a little bonkers.

I don’t mind if ST prices increase a little bit. The club is always fair with pricing and we clearly need extra revenue, but I do want to see stadium sponsorship this summer. That can bring in an extra £1m a season. Will make a huge difference even if it means a loan we couldn’t otherwise afford.

You seriously cannot fault the club for season ticket prices. They are consistently great value for money.

A word on the financing as well:

Our previous credit supplier, Zebra Finance, who have been partnering with a large number of clubs across the country, has seen its funding ceased which has meant football fans across the country will not be able to apply for payment plan options with Zebra going forward.

As a club, we appreciate that spreading the cost of a Season Ticket is an important option for a number of our supporters. So, we have found a solution

For 2019-20, the club will be partnering with V12 to offer a 0% finance option, subsidised by the club to enable supporters to pay across four monthly instalments (valid for loans of £299 or more and subject to credit acceptance).

Reading Football Club will also pay our fans’ administration costs with this deal; the club subsidised this last season to reduce supporters’ admin fee costs from £15 to £5, but in 2019-20 the club will waive the admin fee altogether. And there will also be no introduction of an interest rate (previously 6.5%) via a longer-term deal.

If you want to take advantage of this Finance Option, please speak with the Ticket Office when you choose to sign up to renew or purchase your Season Ticket.

Bravo.

Huge respect to the club for these arrangements; they are more than generous.

I would like to see a maximum 'on the day' price of £20 for all parts of the ground; but I appreciate that season ticket holders might start feeling as though there's no enough difference with what they pay.
