RUMOUR - Garath McCleary

Postby CamberleyRoyal » 01 May 2012 12:31

I was at the hotel yesterday and Brian McDermott was sat with Gareth McCleary having a chat whilst Nicky Hammond structured a deal with his agent. He is 24 and was Nottingham Forest player of the season but his contact has expired. Assuming the financials match up then this should be concluded shortly.

So is this a new feature of Reading negotiations? Complete them in full view and earshot of the public - but then if make out we're a family club why not goal the whole hog? Perhaps the players will be buying pressies for the fans on their birthdays and at xmas soon.

I can promise you 100% that this is correct! Brian McDermott and the player were sat in the main bar area watching Sky Sports News (Brian even asked the staff to turn the TV over from BBC news) whilst Nicky Hammond and the agent were sat in the Cafe around the corner towards the back (near hotel reception).

...looking at the pic on the Forest website...is this the very same person discussed in another thread, that was described as having a mohican, but with no confirmed identity, seen yesterday with BM at the hotel...or was it a case of two different guys with mohicans were with BM at hotel yesterday ? :D

It was my sighting yesterday but at the time I did not know the players identity (name) and was not a member of Hobnob. The comments were from me to a friend and then they were posted.
Trust me chaps, this is definitely the player.

Would be delighted if this turned out to be true as in the latter part of the season he was electric (other than getting red-carded and missing our game)and would push Jobi and Jimmy for a starting place.

I was at the hotel all day yesterday for a work conference.
I was sat in the bar area at around 3pm when Brian McDermott and Gareth McCleary sat down at the table directly in front of me.

What's there not to believe?

No reason for him to bullsh*t, would be a good addition to the squad IMO.

This is the unfounded rumours and gossip forum. Quite why people are so hell bent in calling everyone out as a bullshitter is beyond me. If it is bullshit, so what?! Just calm down and remember one thing; this is the unfounded rumours and gossip forum.

If you're looking for 100% facts and unadulterated correct opinions then get yourself over to the team board and stay there.

I for one look forward to seeing McCleary joining as soon as the TSI deal is ratified next week.
