Strong rumour is that our business is done for this transfer window in terms of players joining. The acquisitions of Gunter and Mariappa completed the squad and only Stuart Taylor is likely to be added to allow Andersen out on loan for a season.

Loan with Option to Buy makes perfect sense in my eyes for Defoe.

As for Kondogbia, would love to see us sign him, someone with real longterm potential

Dependent on how we perform in our first few games I reckon will determine the ins and outs regarding the front line. Think when I say this we are talking about where players like Church stand in the first team plans.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Defoe join on a loan deal as mentioned by someone before.

Quite happy if business is done. We've got a couple of players decent players competing for every position.

If any further business in was to be done, i'd consider replacing Tabb (who I've always been a fan of), or take on some young prospects.

Just seen an interview with Madejski on SSN, and he's refused to rule out any further signings. Not sure how clued up he'd be on all the potential ins & outs, but I wouldn't be surprised if there were further additions, although I think the bulk of the deals have already been done.

As chairman, I'd rather hope he had a pretty good idea if we were going to be spending more money, be it on transfer fees, signing on fees or wages.

I have been told that the Defoe deal is not dead. It is a season long loan but depends on a few things happening first.
Tottenham are currently looking to add to their forward options and the Adebayor transfer has hit a snag. They are also keen on Sturridge from Chelsea and this has been held up due to his health problems.
Interesting to see how this develops over the next few weeks but it is still a 'live' possibility.

If what McDermott says in the EP today is correct, then once Bryn is included, we have a 24 man squad - would seem highly likely that there's at least one more signing to be made this Summer...
