Ian Harte

by West Stand Flash » 09 Apr 2014 11:09

Had a pop on Twitter last night about having Drenthe in his back pocket (not hard), then after getting some stick back from a Reading fan stated:

"if you knew what I got told after the game, you'd have a different opinion".

Based on that, I took it as if you knew what I got told about Drenthe you wouldn't be speaking up. My guess it's about the ridiculous wages Royston earns? Either way, Harte has made himself look a bit of an arse there & needs to get off his soapbox.

Why, he was only telling the truth,
Ian harte is a model professional who looks after himself which is why he is still playing in a side that destroyed Reading last night.
Royston on the other hand has wasted the talent he was given, never looked after himself or his career and will not even be still playing at 30 years of age
let alone coming up to 37
Royston 135 games 12 goals, a goal every 11 games
I Harte 450 games 73 goals, a goal every 6 games
Without knowing the players or positions they play, based on those stats which one would you say was the attacking midfielder ?

How many of those goals are from a set piece?

Its like saying Rogerio Ceni* is a better striker than Alf, cos he's scored 112 goals

*he's a goal keeper who takes free kicks and pens

There was something posted on the 'Reading fans' pages on FB this morning saying that Harte Tweeted he had Royston in his back pocket. Can't see what all the fuss is about. Good bant I'd say.

Sad fact is that Ian Harte has more headed goals than Royston has total career goals and that is while playing full back and center back for his entire career.
Throw in the International stats and it gets even more embarrassing for our rotund international superstar.

I thought it was common knowledge RD is on £130,000 a week.

The person who tweeted Harte is probably the same type of person who gets up tight when a former player celeb8s a goal against their former club.

I know these guys are paid a wage but they're there to win and defeat their opponent. Fair play to Harte I say, he's obviously chuffed he's done exactly that.

I'll say what I said on Twitter last night - fair play to Harte for piping up, makes a change from the boring rhetoric that Reading's players give after every game, "thanks, fans were gr8 - onto the next one now!"

Also, Harte is a respected professional who has earnt the right and respect to make a comment like he did. Reading fans have short memories, his goals helped us win the title - oh how I would've longed for Harte at LB for us last night.

If Drenthe had ripped him a new one last night we'd have been (gently) taking this piss out harte, works both ways. Fair play to him

He also cost us numerous goals. He has settled well in Bournemouth, a well known pensioner backwater.

Ian 's career (in its entirety and just for Reading) absolutely shits all over the sorry excuse of a professional footballer Drenthe is. Drenthe wont even be playing pro football in 3 years time, let alone at 37. Exactly the type of player that makes the current team so unlikeable. Still, doesn't stop the mong squad chanting his name every game as he goes on to show how hopelessly unfit he is by completely blowing out after 35 mins.

Harte has massively over achieved in his career and is without doubt the best set piece specialist the club has ever had. Don't give me Caskey, one decent season in Div 3. A liability at the back? Don't think so. Ripped a new one at Wembley, that's pretty much it. How many clean sheets from 2010-2012? A lot.

I know who id rather be seeing playing in a Reading shirt. I hope he called Drenthe a useless cunt. It would have been deserved.
