SPECULATION: Tammy Abraham

by SCIAG » 11 Jun 2018 16:00

We need a striker. We'd rather not spend money.

Tammy Abraham scored 23 Championship goals two years ago. Chelsea sent him on loan to Swansea, and after a good start, he fell off quite dramatically and ultimately I think he'd be considered a failure there. Historically, in that situation Chelsea have sent their players back to the Championship e.g. Nathaniel Chalobah coming here after his failed spell at Burnley.

He's already played for Clement, and that good spell when he joined Swansea was under Clement's management. Although he'd probably be our highest earner, a loan deal would probably be considerably cheaper than the going rate for a striker with his record.

I'm not a fan because of his record of going to ground a little easily, but I'd be surprised if we can do any better.

He’d be amazing, but there will be many better clubs in for him than the 20th best Championship team..

Not that he'll be coming here but clubs don't just take league position into account when loaning players out.

yeah wages would be one. And I strongly suspect there are 7-8 teams who would be willing to pay more than we would if he was made available to the champ - which I doubt he will be.

Expect him to go to Fulham, Hudders, Brighton, Newcastle or similar

Failed to deliver last season. Needs to drop down to rebuild.

I don’t agree, he’s too good for the championship imo, much better off staying in the premiership and playing for a side who will play him regularly if possible. He’s only 20 remember

He is a Premier League player, we are currently Championship relegation contenders.

Not happening.
