WATERWATCH : Port Vale (a)

by Sutekh » 19 Feb 2026 09:34

When : A suggestion of Saturday
Where : At a local Lido in Stoke

Quack!

Should be a game where the subs will make a difference.

Hoping the pitch inspection happens before Saturday.

Wonder if the potential of postponement is holding people off from buying tickets for this one. We've obviously sold a good amount but feels we might have sold more by now otherwise at £10.

Thought I saw somewhere that it's pay on the day.

Last I looked there were < 100 left from what was available.

Port Vale pretty confident of the game going ahead from what I have heard.

I think I managed to gaslight myself into thinking we'd been given a much larger final allocation.

Still no news in the media whatsoever on the inevitable, you’d think an early pitch inspection would be planned for tomorrow. Looking forward to the axe falling at 10am on Saturday or later.

Or perhaps we will all be entertained by the water polo after all on Saturday afternoon.

Think there's a good chance this still goes ahead after all. It was supposed to rain through the night in Stoke last night but barely rained at all, no more rain forecast until from about midday tomorrow then no more until Saturday evening.

As long as the rain tomorrow is light and doesn't last too long we should be okay. Don't think their pitch has had too much of a soaking since the weekend compared to the previous couple of weeks.

The game should go ahead. Reading don't use the pitch anyway, so it won't have an impact on us.

I’d be surprised if the current pitch is any worse than that of 5th May 1979!

I remember it well. An absolute cabbage patch bog of a marsh!
