Re: European Leagues Thread 2012/2013

Cattadella went 1-0 up in the 2nd leg making it 1-1 on agg. Venezia then had a player sent off in the first half, Venezia then had another player sent off on 70 minutes, 2nd half was apparently just wave after wave of Cittadella attacks, Venezia then scored in injury time to make it 2-1 and they we...

NathStPaul Gattuso the favourite for the Spurs job.

And their supporters moaned about Mourinho.....

Given he quit Fiorentina today due to an argument over transfers, am not sure he is exactly the fit Spurs need.

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

That's an odd one for me. Unless Fulham were looking to get rid anyway. Think Fulham have a lot of players out of contract etc and he wasn't exactly loved there. Surprised Bournemouth want him as he has been average to be honest - they should have gone up when they did and never looked like threate...

Re: Contract situation at end of 2020/21 season.

You do have to acknowledge just how insane the Championship is and the levels of spending involved. There is no 'sensible' way of turning a club like Reading into promotion candidates. Either you throw a ton of money over a few seasons and hope you get promoted before FFP hits or you basically just...

Re: Euro 2020

Very glad Eriksen is alive. I didn’t see the incident, but the photos tell the story. Will he play again or is that it for him, like poor Muamba? Read this morning that if he has had a cardiac arrest, which seems likely, it will be illegal for him to play in Italy again so in the unlikely event he ...

Very glad Eriksen is alive. I didn’t see the incident, but the photos tell the story. Will he play again or is that it for him, like poor Muamba? It was horrible. The cameras panned into his face and frankly he looked dead. Absolutely brilliant he is still alive. I can’t see him playing again but r...

Re: The Non - League thread

Going to be quite tough next season for the play-off winner, I would think.

Final not till late June with first game on 6th August, so will have half he break between seasons and time to build the squad as everyone else.

First leg of the Bundesliga play off. Cologne 0-1 Holstein Kiel Second leg Holstein Kiel 1 Cologne 5 Ingolstadt beat Osnabruck to get promoted to 2. Bundesliga. I really do not agree with the play-off system here in Germany. It worked out for Ingolstadt this year but last year, they failed (extreme...

Re: Euro 2020

My only annoyance at this tournament is that the 3rd placed teams can go through. Really takes away some of the drama of a big team going out when they don't get a win after just the first game And then as per 2016 go on to win the thing. Weren't Portugal the first team to win a major international...

Re: Free transfers watch

Hmm, I'd draw a very definite line between a free transfer and a Bosman type transfer. A lot of those players rejected terms with their club and chose to run down their contracts knowing there was a better offer elsewhere. Free transfer to me are players who remain under contract but it makes sense...

Sounds like this guy is a RWB - so could play further forward - some interesting comments on that there Twitter about him from a guy who knows Columbian football and says he is a bit of a star. Who knows but if he is free and wages low, then could be worth a punt. Scouting network is going to be key...

Re: Contract situation at end of 2020/21 season.

Heard that McIntyre has agreed a new deal with the club. The only thing holding it up is the agents fee Ah lovely agents. Their fee holding up a deal fir a player who, checks notes, has been at the club since he was a kid. It is seriously easy money sometimes. That would be the agent that the playe...

Always felt Everton are the northern Spurs, maybe with a 5/10 year delay. Loads of potential, historically in the shadow of their local rivals. Aren't they looking at a big new stadium too? Yep - planning permission received in March - virtual flythrough video here - looks like it could be pretty i...

Re: Olise being sold for £8m?

If Olise does stay, I wonder if we have a clause in his contract that allows us to extend it for another year similar to the way Nevers deal was extended a year before he was sold to West Ham? So we fight off any suitors this summer, instigate the automatic renewal and flog him next year if/when we ...

Re: Champions League/Europa League 2020/21

I think Werner is an exceptional player. He just needs to be taken to one side, 2 hours a day and work on finishing, crack that and he will be amazing. If chelsea go all out for Haaland and maybe one other key signing they will be incredibly strong next season. Have a feeling Chelsea might try and ...
