Re: Eastleigh (A)

Sorry, don't log into Hob Nob much these days. Reading fan by birth, but I watch Winchester City these days. Eastleigh? My preference would be Steam Town Brew Pub, the only pub in Eastleigh I've ever drunk in, but I'm a real ale bore. Their beer is good as are their burgers. I believe Eastleigh has...

Re: Eastleigh (A)

Sounds like you've attempted it a few times :) LOL! I looked at it a couple of times when there's been a decent game there, but gave up trying to figure out how to get there, except by driving. No beer, no fun. I live in Winchester these days. Reading fan by birth, but live in Winchester now and oxf...

Re: Eastleigh (A)

S And you need to get a rail replacement bus from Winchester to Southampton Parkway or Eastleigh. On Google Maps it looks like it should be an easy, short walk from Airport Parkway to the ground. It isn't. Busy roads to cross, no pavements and no access from the east side of the stadium, unless you...

Re: The Non - League thread

Better make the most of this weeks Mon/Tues/Wed fixtures because that`s it for a month !! Thankfully we have a home game on Tuesday (assuming no-one at Winch or Evesham gets the lurgy). I normally drive to mid-week games and stay off the beer. I suspect this may not be the case for this game. Winch...

Re: The Non - League thread

Winchester City won 2-1 away at Cinderford tonight, and go fourth, after a couple of disappointing results lately. Taking that with the Reading result, I'm a happy bunny tonight. More locally, Basingstoke Town got their first won at their new ground - 3-0 against Mangotsfield. Mangoes are normally ...

Re: The Non - League thread

I have found the answer to my own question lol. It is basically 30% of ground capacity. So in Basingstoke's case will be 400 this weekend. Almost. It's 30% of the minimum capacity required by the ground grading rules for the league in question. see Appendix C in this doc (we are in stage 2 now) fil...

Re: The Non - League thread

Tony Le Mesmer FT was at 4.39

Christ, I remember when Reading games finished at 4.40. 10 mins for half time and none of this time added on nonsense.

(Given the time of year, I expect some non league clubs are just trying to avoid having to turn the floodlights on.)

Re: The Non - League thread

Southern League South - whats the max crowd size. Basingstoke Town will know tomorrow if they can return to the Town and play at Winklebury. First game is scheduled for the following Saturday against Totton. With the fact they are top of the league and returning i would expect a bumper turnout. 400...

Re: The Non - League thread

I see on Twitter that Kai Stubbs-Alleyne got the winner for Reading City tonight. Is he related to the Reading Alleyne footballing dynasty, as in Andy Alleyne who used to wear the hoops at Elm Park back in the 70s?

Re: The Non - League thread

Winchester City still on 100%. Beat Totton 2-1 away tonight in a big derby despite being down to 10 men for half an hour. Half of Totton's team are ex-Winch, which adds to the tension! Cirencester had a big win and go top, and Basingstoke won too, going second by my reckoning. . Winchester are third...

With your tenants right behind you

Ex-tenants - they'll be back in B'stoke this season, I believe. The Hampshire FA ground seems to be nearly ready for them.

.

I was wrong. Basingstoke are playing a home game at Winchester on Tuesday night v. Sholing.

Saturday 3rd October – weather forecast is grim – so expect a few ‘washouts’ FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round [BEHIND CLOSED DOORS at ELITE Club STEP02 Ground ; * = ELITE Club] 76 Bath City* (6S) v Winchester City (8SS) Shame we can't go to this, but it would have been an expensive day out in the fine p...

....a certain Mr Brett Williams with a brace for Totton.

ex- Winch and Reading.

The word is Totton have money to spend this year. Their team has a couple of Winch's better ex-players. We'll see, next Tuesday.

Re: The Non - League thread

Must be shit for Macclesfield fans. I hope they get a phoenix club together and rise up the leagues, soon. Slightly brighter news Winchester City won 5-1 Mangotsfield Utd. Cracking game as you would imagine. Two up after 10 mins, and all over them. Should have been 4 up by half time but went in 2-0...
