Re: Ejaria

I heard he went to a series of covid parties and then got arrested at that Corbyn invasion of vaccinations where they threw stuff in the bin. Word from the club is that he's gone to Wuhan working on another strain of covid. If this is true he should be fined. Seems a bit harsh. I think a simple “do...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Stickland, Abbey , Samuels and Senga seem to have been absent from recent U23 squads. Does anyone know if they are all injured too? Abbey has missed most of the season - might be wrong but I'm not sure he's recovered from the injury he got playing for the first team. Samuels has been injured since ...

Re: Pauno out

Southwood Tetek, Laurent, Holmes, Bristow Rino, Drinkwater TDB, Swift, Clarke Puscas Subs: Collins, Holzman, Ashcroft/Abrefa, Paul, Osorio, Camara, Joao The full injury list of players aged 16+ must be 20-25 players at the moment, absolutely bonkers. On my bench I have our fifth choice goalkeeper, o...

Re: Pauno out

Pauno deserves sacking for keeping Bristow on the pitch when his side was being targeted. Not his fault he isnt ready, so the manager let's his confidence get destroyed even more by leaving him on the pitch. He was rinsed by Fulham as well. Pauno please just resign  before you get a relegation...

Re: Liam moore

Just how long has things been "brewing"? Bowen wanted Moore gone before he went himself, do we know why Bowen tried to get rid? Pauno came in and kept Moore as Captain. Moore used to make statements on behalf of the players and club, but they seem to have dried up for a few months now. If...

Re: Liam moore

- No problem with a player handing in a transfer request. - No problem with a player being stripped of the captaincy. - Moore hasn't offered us value for money for a long time. Happy to see him moved on. Moore couldn't really do anything but play injured party after that statement to be fair. They'v...

Re: rumour - Jermaine Defoe

Mid Sussex Royal Probably nothing in it but doing the rounds on Facebook/Twitter that we've made him an offer.

Did he play with Carroll at Newcastle?

No, because he never played for Newcastle. They probably played together for England.

Re: Pauno out

I'd like to see him have the support he deserves - I can't imagine a more-seasoned manager having better success and anyone else with a pedigree would never come here or would have probably jumped ship due to all the financial issues and injury woes. That said, there is something wrong when a side ...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Just not enough quality. We threatened at times but couldn’t make the most of things. I liked what I saw of Okine-Peters and that was the best performance I have seen from Purcell. Perhaps all the injuries and unavailabilities mean that this group don’t quite have the chemistry that some past teams ...

Re: When we had wingers….

Little and McAnuff were probably the most consistent wingers we had over a duration but Convey was electric for the 106 season Kebe and McCleary were decent but never quite got the peaks/consistency as the other three IMO Personally unsure about Beerens and Barrow on the list, Beerens was a good fo...

Re: When we had wingers….

Hate to give such a cliche answer, but Little and Convey, with Kebe and McAnuff on the bench. The right balance of pace and finesse. Fwiw I would certainly count Hoilett as a traditional winger and likewise Azeez. Even Meite is as much a winger as anyone in the England squad or at the big club side...

Re: Ex Players

Never thought Al-Habsi was terrible with his feet. He was quite eccentric and kept doing Cruyff turns under pressure, but his passing success under Stam was higher than Martinez and not far behind Federici under Adkins. A long way behind Southwood for sure, but he was better with his feet than McCar...

Re: Who realistically replaces Paunovic…?

Pepe the Horseman
blythspartan I know, not at all likely but if it can’t be Ainsworth I would choose Nuno Espírito Santo. He did a fantastic job at Wolves.

Good shout. Maybe Pochettino if Nuno isn't interested.

Arrigo Sacchi is currently unemployed.

Re: Who realistically replaces Paunovic…?

Knowing the club must be the most over rated attribute in a manager. Firstly which club do they know, the one they played for, which apart from the stadium and the colour on the kits is often very different to the one they would now manage. Anyone from our successful eras under Coppell and McDermot...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Middlesbrough (a)

Ashcroft was concussed against Derby, but I figure a week may cover the protocol Should have come off immediately. Makes sense. I don’t think either Ashcroft or Bristow are ready to be playing at this level personally, but needs must. Expecting us to be very exposed down the flanks. And also down t...
