Re: One for HNA? refs - offside or not?

Had a bit of an argument with a lino during my U15 boys' last league game at the weekend over the interpretation of 'being active' in an offside decision (or non-decision). Perhaps collective body of HNA? refs out there can answer this: A ball was played through the middle in our half to an opposin...

Getting on for a quarter of a century ago. Only Reading fans well into their 30s will have any memory of this  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kwk4Erxrsqs - let's pretend the rest of the day didn't happen. The biggest heartbreak in all of my years as a fan. I was devastated. I really thought...

Re: The Playoffs 2018/19 edition

Yet another Bielsa team runs out of steam. Quelle surprise.

Has there ever been a 5th vs 6th PO final before at this level?

Tranmere 1 Reading 3 - PO SF 1st Leg. In all my years, this was the most perfect away performance I ever witnessed. Tranmere were played off the park and their fans showed their appreciation at the end. A brilliant, brilliant day. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwxI5e06HXU Similar era, Blackpool 0...

Re: The Non - League thread

An incredible 1267 crowd at the Stray Dog in Walthamstow watch Clapton CFC clinch the Middlesex County League Div 1 C&E title with a 3-0 win. Been an incredible inaugural season and will be interesting to see how they follow that next season.

Re: The Non - League thread

At level 12, an incredible 804 at the Stray Dog in Walthamstow saw Clapton Community FC beat London Samurai 3-2 in the Middlesex County League Div One C&E. A virtual decider, the Tons need a win in their last game to clinch the title. The nascent club has performed miracles in its first season: ...

Re: We're ManchesteROFL United, we do what we want

Watching United last night and my overwhelming thought was that they are really, really fu cked for the foreseeable future. Not one of their players would adequately replace any in the City, Liverpool or Spurs line ups. Still, they will always have the Class of '92 and 1999, which were so last centu...

Lovely article about Jamie Cureton's 1000th appearance in the Grauniad https://www.theguardian.com/football/football-league-blog/2019/apr/24/jamie-cureton-xavi-raul-football-1000-games-arsenal-goalscorer Apparently only the 29th player in the world to reach that landmark  and still a bargain.

Re: That Robin Friday goal, now visible on video (sort of)

Close, but not close enough for the Fuhrer. Ball came in to Friday just outside the 'D' (23-25 yds) on the right and he had his back to goal. Still think that the closest I have seen is Thierry Henry's goal v Man Utd in 2000 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ksz6K-tJ6Nc although Friday's goal was hit...

2011-12, the run in. We played 3 other teams in the Top 4 and also Leeds in 2 weeks. Amazing scenes throughout. Went to/watched every one. First up: West Ham away. 4-2 win. Roberts and Leigertwood imperious. Great away day. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THs915bDkyI Tosser Nolan given it the big u...

Re: Nations League & Friendlies

Watched the US draw 1-1 with Chile last night and was impressed by Matt Miazga. Calm and composed on the ball throughout. Started off playing as the right CB in a flat back four and ended up in a back three as Chile dominated possession. Dealt particularly well with Chile's high press. Got a bit con...

Re: On this day

Mid Sussex Royal Yep I believe it may be Colin Court, Steve Death was in dispute with the club and refused to play (in fact never played again) and our second choice was injured.

1-1 vs Sw*ndon. Both goals were credited as OGs by the keepers.

Re: BFTG Ipswich

I was on my allotment and at 1-1 my phone died. Imagine my surprise at coming home at 5 30. I’m a grown man with all sorts of shit going down but this has made me very happy. Almost the same for me. My phone died on my way to my local coffee shop and I was in bad fcuking mood thinking it was 1-1 an...
