Re: Explain like I'm five: our FFP crisis

I'm assuming it's the reasons above. Alternatively could another reason for a soft embargo be that we've done something which isn't in the spirit of ffp - ie trying to balance a hefty loss by bringing in a stupid fee for sending a player to a club overseas owned by the same owners? Just an afterthou...

I've been meaning to take a stab at replying to this all day, but the day has gotten away from me. You may have seen my recent article for The Tilehurst End. https://thetilehurstend.sbnation.com/2019/5/20/18631429/what-is-financial-fair-play-and-why-should-we-care-reading-fc I'd have a read of that...

Re: Explain like I'm five: our FFP crisis

. We then made little attempt to cut our cloth on relegation and got into the first big financial issue with Zingaravich bailing leaving us with a huge dodgy Vibrac loan. Another positive example of Chinese backing is the reduction in interest payments out in last year's financial accounts. The his...

We'll only sign Ian Royal. Sam Walker will drop to the bench.

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Very interesting read Maff- reminded me of a lot of players I had wiped from my memory. A few who I didn't notice you covering: Ji was joined on that two-year scholarship (not a trial) by Nam Tae-Hee and Kim Won-Sik. Nam has 44 caps for South Korea and currently plays for Al-Sadd in Qatar. Kim play...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

A bit of a tangent, but Sim from The Tilehurst End and I have compiled a piece on players that passed through our academy, didn't make a first team appearance and went on to forge careers somewhere else (or still have the opportunity to). This series shows where some are plying their trade these day...

Reportedly Reading would be Ovie's preferred destination https://www.readingchronicle.co.uk/sport/17695463.liverpool-midfielder-ovie-ejaria-likely-to-move-to-reading-ahead-of-the-201920-championship-season/ Would be good to get him in here early doors. Give us a clue. Money in? Deadweight out?
Hired some FFP loophole lawyers?

No more detail - it's what José said in an interview in Portugal

Re: Are we screwed?

There should be an end to the financial woes. We were in an ok position before Gourlay and co ballsed up. Yep, boom or bust after the playoff final, which was the first season diminished income given parachute payments ended then. Hilarious really when we see what we signed. At least that loss come...

Re: Are we screwed?

The youngsters need to come through. I wouldn't mind a season or two of surviving while clearing bloated contracts off the books but it seems like there is no end in sight to the financial woes. Actually I think the opposite is the case. We’ve got a short term issue with the restrictions of FFP. Th...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

Hibs will have some money to spend and £500,000 would be below their transfer record. That would be the bare minimum he should go for. In reality we should be looking at getting £800,000 for him. After his loan success I'd be looking for £1.5m. Got a Hibby chum who is convinced they can't afford tr...

Re: Rumour - Patrick Bauer

This would be very good news if this did happen. Bauer is a strong ball winning tall (6ft3) centre back. For those who didn’t know. Would be a great partner for Moore. He has been far to good for league 1 for the last couple of seasons and I suggested we signed him last year. On a free transfer we ...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

Well they can’t both be first choice so let’s say we start with Southwood 1, Ward 2, CBC 3. Would it not make sense to have Ward starting cup games as a no.2? Would be a bit odd otherwise. Shouldn't we prioritise potential? If Ward were in his last season we wouldn't be clamouring to extend him Sou...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

So an emerging question for us to think on: Does CBC get any serious consideration for 3rd choice keeper next season? Hes 16 so I cant help but think no but it's rare for someone of his age to come out and say that and to sound believable. He seems to have that belief in himself. I hope he is judge...
