Re: Saturday

Couldn't the Captains just meet in the centre circle and flip a coin to decide the winner? Best of five, be more exciting.
Afterwards both teams meet in the pub to buy drinks for the low number of fans who turn up to watch.

http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/43737853 BBC Sport - West Brom technical director Nick Hammond has left the club as part of the Baggies' plans to restructure. Hammond joined the club in April 2016 having previously been director of football at Reading, where he worked with manager Alan Pardew, wh...

Re: CONFIMRED - Paul Clement appointed as new Royals boss

Relieved that Jaap Stam has finally been put out of his misery. Sad but it had to happen (3 months ago IMO). Agreed but at least he has the International break to get his staff appointed/set up and a chance to look at some of his players rather than a mid-week appointment with a weekend game to pan...

Re: Reading v Stevenage FA CUP Prediction Thread

Reading 0 Stevenage 0 HT
Reading 0 Stevenage 0 FT
Reading 0 Stevenage 0 ET

I hope that Reading edge it on penalties but that does suppose we can find 5 Reading players, that can find the back of the net.

Re: Thames Valley Whites (Leeds United Supporters Club)

Sitting on a bus for several hours, with a bunch of Leeds fans, coming back from a game where I fully expect us to lose.
That will be a fun trip!
Mind you, winning could be even worse.

Re: Rumour - Tomer Hemed

Just spotted this on the BBC Sports rolling news - "After FC Zurich forward Raphael Dwamena failed his medical - and with Glenn Murray and Sam Baldock out injured - the top priority for Chris Hughton is at least one striker, but preferably two. His own frontman Tomer Hemed is a target for Readi...

BBC just put on their live news section - Left-back Jordan Amavi and winger Leandro Bacuna are on the verge of leaving Aston Villa, manager Steve Bruce has confirmed. Amavi, 23, is set to join Marseille while Bacuna, 25, is interesting one of Villa's Championship rivals. "We've agreed a fee wit...

Re: Jaap Stam Rumours

I said in the close season that I don't think there's a club that's realistically going to tempt Stam. Obviously if Man U or someone came in for him he'd be tempted to say the least - but that's not going to happen, and he gains very little by going to a prem also ran. Now we've got the Chinese inv...

Re: BFTG - Wembley

I've said for 30 years plus that penalties is a stupid way to decide any game, largely falling down to complete luck and next to no skill. Then you've been wrong for 30 years then. There is luck involved, but a good penalty is one that'll go in even if the keeper goes the right way. That is entirel...

Re: BFTG Wolves

Just read Paul Lambert's comments - http://www.royals.org/readingfc-news/Paul-Lambert-slams-referee-after-Reading-FCs-2-1-win-over-Wolves - What a sore loser. I don't remember any incident that might have resulted in a penalty for them, so what was the 'stonewall penalty' that he refers to? He also...

Re: BFTG - Fulham Home

Was that offside? My first reaction at the time was that it was offside. But then I thought the lino had given a goal kick and the keeper was taking what looked like a goal kick. So then I assumed he must have been onside and it would have counted. Well then I take that back. No such chance was eve...

Re: Back from the game: MK Dons

PieEater The foul was clearly outside the box, you could see the skid marks, but the shit ref gave a pen.

Wasn't there, but the ref makes the pen decision based on where contact is made, not where the skid marks start

Re: Rumour- Steven Taylor/Adrian marriappa

Never really warmed to Marriappa....a sign of the £remiership and the struggles that we were having at that time.. i guess. Happy to give him another go....but here we would go again....signing players with no real attatchment to the fans nor the club. Surely the club also have a responsibility to ...

Also, why were West Brom drinking in Woodley? Is there anywhere left to drink in Woodley ? The Bull & Chequers is still the dive it has always been if you want a true pre-match pint. if you want more up-market then try Bosco's. Café/bar not a pub but they serve an all-day breakfast that i...

Re: COMING SOON : West Bromwich Albion (h) FA Cup Round 5

The BBC stats for Everton v West Brom. Everton / WBA Possession 76% / 24% Shots 33 / 5 (33 is not a typo) On target 6 / 1 Corners 14 / 1 Result 0 / 1 If the West Brom. goal has such a charmed life, how the hell are we going to score? I just hope that the big bus they must have parked in front of go...
