Re: Squad for 2025-2026

Hoping we can get a top quality new face or two into defence, there must be a promising PL youngster ready to step out into the world of proper football on loan, Amara Nallo from Liverpool for example. But it’s one area we could probably do with finding a Harlee Dean type to hold things together and...

Re: Squad for 2025-2026

Odd that the new owners are undergoing so many checks on contract renewal when they've already put big distance between themselves and Dai, plus Couhig has a track record. I can undergoing why you may want to monitor an unproven owner more, but equally do they actually have the power to block anyth...

Re: The generic transfer thread

Well SecondPlace FC look like they’ll miss out on Zubimendi, who now appears to be Real bound, so are finally attempting to buy a striker by the name of Sexko or something. Supposedly all agreed. Sociedad have some tax thing that means they need Arsenal to delay the announcement until July. Quotes ...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2024/25

I was thinking of a graduate as someone who has completed the training rather than someone who happened to be part of it for a bit then moved on or got rejected ! Just spotted another couple of glaring omissions as neither Eze nor Gittens are listed - that’s £100 million of talent ! 14. Jamie Bynoe...

Re: Noel Hunt Confrimed

Just how and why is anyone surprised?! Selles knew the risks and the territory. He kept them up and did wonders with us. He has two big ticks on his CV. Football is a merciless game. I wouldn't be surprised if Hunt is replaced. SJM "surprisingly" binned Evans for Branfoot in 1991 after ta...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2024/25

According to Wiki: So it seems, if Wiki is accurate ( :D ), Reading have a very successful Academy. 163 graduates, in around 25 years, so far progressed to 1st team football somewhere. Assuming 15 players per intake (which is 375) then that would give us a near 50% success rate ! But those figures ...

Winston Biscuit Chris Coleman sacked by Leuven

If anyone finds themselves in Leuven, would highly recommend the tour of the Stella Artois brewery.

Also have a microbrewery recommendation, but it's a bit of a walk from the centre - Brouwerij de Coureur

Is that Flemish for Courage Brewery?

Re: OFFISHAL CONFRIMATION of the CONFIMRED

It’s kinda strange there has been nothing official from the club about the new investment. Despite them announcing it on LinkedIn about a week or so ago. I would have thought there would have been some sort of statement Because it is subject to FL approval ? I guess that would depend on the basis o...

Re: The generic transfer thread

Have to say that Trent saying leaving Liverpool was the hardest decision of his life, and then speaking fluent Spanish at the presser before stating (and correcting, pointlessly) that he has 'had to wait a long time' to join Real, is shithousery of the highest order. Well he has had 2 years to lear...

WestYorksRoyal I wonder what's taking the likes of Abrefa, Dorsett and Ehibhatiomhan longer than Pereira. You won't get a better offer than Reading lads.

Re: The generic transfer thread

What sort of numbers is Wirtz gonna have to put up to be considered successful? With a 150M price tag it's gotta be high! Something like this, which is his 24/25 season vs. Lamine Yamal, and puts him in the same ballpark. Liverpool will want him to create - only Yamal and Salah created more chances...
