Re: Anyone For Chinese?

The current stadium is in dire state of repair; leaking roofs, rust, brick work crumbling, drab concrete interior, etc; thus is going to require a good level of investment. Location has always been its achilles heel, but not sure the stadium is as bad as that. 26 years old and yep, a new lick of pa...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

League registration must be earlier than that, fixtures normally come out middle-to-end of June. Would the EFL take a risk on our continued participation in our respective league, if the takeover process is sufficiently advanced by end of May?

Re: Anyone For Chinese?

Palmer Park is difficult because of the leisure centre and adjoining football pitches and the car park being tiddily. I'm also not sure whether the internal dimensions support a football pitch. But yes that's the best option if it does come to that. Is there not a football pitch in the middle alrea...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

Quadruple chance done. Poor from Klopp. Players were looking leggy and he didn’t make the right subs On a side note, what is the point of Gakpo? Seems to score a few in Europe but offers very little domestically Big relief that's done...didn't realise Klopps FA Cup record was so poor......and indee...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Wycombe have just tweeted that they are putting on hold provision for funding to RFC and the acquistion of Bearwood. "Wycombe Wanderers Football Club and Feliciana have to put on hold the discussions and ongoing due diligence due to seeming planning limitations allowing only Reading FC to use ...

They’ll find training facilities easy enough. It might be a trek and they might not be very good but they’ll find somewhere Don't forget that needs to include space for the academy teams and the women's team. Or 3 separate facilities That's true, but Hogwood was significantly smaller than Bearwood ...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Spoke to a couple of great oldish Shrewsbury fans pre-match in the pub. They were pretty apprehensive about their chances generally, scoring any goals specifically – , and bemoaning how long it took the board to get rid of Matt Taylor. They did laugh at the dreadful bus options at the New Mead...

Clyde1998 Surprised the seating is so much cheaper than standing. £26 for the terrace seems very steep.

Thought the same. £11 cheaper if you're an adult, £12 for OAPs. Can't recall many grounds that have cheaper seating than terraces. Do the seats actually have a view of the pitch? :?

Re: MATCHWATCH : Shrewsbury Town (h)

Don't mind Kelvin out wide-left. Some of his play on Saturday was excellent, equally some of his hold-up play was poor, and his touch needs working on. But I do think he offers more of a threat there than Knibbs, Mukairu, Vickers, NGW or Elliott have at various points this season. And also offers a ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Port Vale (h)

Fleetwood are on their third manager now aren't they? FWIW, I thought Fleetwood, under Lee Johnson, were excellent when they beat us at home in October. Easily one of the best sides we've seen at the SCL this season. Not quite as impressive at Highbury, but been equally baffled as to their current ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Port Vale (h)

How are Port Vale (and Fleetwood) in the relegation zone, I thought that they passed the ball extremely well and had genuinely good chances to score. Am I missing something obvious? They seemed a long way from the weakest teams I’ve watched this season. Port Value - they've got a bunch of games in ...

We only took 24 (out of 52) points from our last 13 games. Near as damn it 1.85 points per game. Leicester need a smidge over 2.2 points per game to beat it. It's going to be close. If you know of a way of getting 52 points out of 13 games, please pass on to our current team, would put us right in ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Portsmouth (a)

Buttons worst game in a Reading shirt. I think he was at fault for the first and 4th goals Well, he's built up quite the portfolio of poor games, but I think he was even worse away at Northampton. Lumley wasn't brilliant, but he's just streets ahead of Button. We've had some brilliant keepers, some...

Re: TV rights

Channel 4 deal to show England matches ends this year. ITV have won it from September 2024 through to June 2028. Euros and WC actual tournaments continue to be shared by BBC and ITV

Suspect that means that BBC will push to be the terrestrial partner for TNT Sport's FA Cup rights deal.

Re: Away followings

Any news on what Bristol Rovers current away capacity is? Looks like their South Stand is now complete, plus they have an away terrace too. Derby have received an allocation of 1,348, split between standing and seating. I'd think it's likely we'll get the same. That's looking a lot healthier than t...

The PL Everton decision is going to be very interesting. Feels like the local MPs, Liverpool mayor Steve Rotheram and Everton-supporting Manchester mayor Andy Burnham are desperately trying to sway the outcome. Does rather shine a dim light on what our locally elected bods are doing for us. Has Alok...
