Re: Explain like I'm five: our FFP crisis

And of course, the financial clusterfcuk of 2017/18 is exacerbated this season by the fact we made a profit in 2016/16 which mitigated against it last season but is now off the books for FFP. The other issue is that we don’t know what the loss is going to be in 18/19. A bloated squad won’t have hel...

Re: VAR

I reckon VAR was right with the retaking of the penalty but how on earth the ref added on only five minutes of injury time was beyond me.

Re: Explain like I'm five: our FFP crisis

To anyone criticising FFP as maintaining the status quo, what is the alternative? Allowing clubs to borrow loads, get promoted at the expense of clubs who try to do it properly, and create a situation where every club has an incentive to unsustainably spend money on players they cant afford? You do...

Re: Explain like I'm five: our FFP crisis

So, if we somehow survive this season, the situation should ease. At the moment though, there are signs that we could be 2019/2020s Ipswich. Yes because 20/21 will only matter alongside 2018/19 and 2019/20. Next season will be a struggle. And of course, the financial clusterfcuk of 2017/18 is exace...

Re: Explain like I'm five: our FFP crisis

Although it seems a pitiful situation, Dai and his sister have not been shy in bank rolling the club since May 2018, rightly or wrongly. And according to Jose they continue to be motivated to plough more money in to help improve our position, although current FFP rules prevent them from doing so. T...

Re: Explain like I'm five: our FFP crisis

I obviously know all of this, but on behalf of everyone else I shall pose the question. For a club like us that hasn't really spent much, we don't have massive wage players, haven't splashed out tonnes (apart from donkey Aluko but our net spend can't be that much as we;ve also sold) and have a team...

Hopefully so. I’m getting considerably bored of reading about “5 players from Europe we could sign” or “30 free agents in the Prem we could sign” or weekly webchats where we find out nothing new! Bring back Watts! Low’s fine. It’s very quiet at the moment. Not much he can do about that. Low tries h...

Re: Financial Fair Play

Under a “light” transfer embargo at the moment according to the Sun Yep. We need permission from the EFL to buy players. Those players not wanted by the club can report for training a week later than the rest and will train with the under 23’s. So that will include the likes of Popa and Meyler and ...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

I agree on him being a cheaper option, but 9 in 27 (+2) in the Eredivisie is hardly prolific - joint 26th top scorer in the league and 52nd for goals per 90 (min 10 games). 1.8 shots per 90 also suggests a very different style of play to Oliveira, who averages over double that across his career. Pu...

From Despair To Where? Whatever happens with Martinez, I hope Gomes settles on a definite first choice keeper. Don't want to see us chopin and changing or the season might unravel.

Yep hopefully someone can cement their plaice as our no.1

Re: Celtic Eye Moore

Lol @ thinking a top flight winners medal and European football is trivial. Or that the English second tier trumps it. Who cares how easy it is to get, it's still a top flight winners medal and a whole lot more high profile than finishing 20th in the Championship. Moore's certainly not going to win...

Re: Financial Fair Play

Worrying we're told there's a self imposed embargo and then the second a Moore rumour turns up it's lifted. Don't get me wrong, he's got to be close to our highest earner and almost certainly getting paid well above his value. He's also one of our most valuable players to sell, but we're so chronic...
