Hendo
URZZZZ Slaven Bilic on his way to West Brom - very good appointment

Garry Monk on his way out of Birmingham if reports are to be believed

Houghton to Birmingham would be the most sensible bet if Monk is leaving.

Monk never seems too stay in one place very long? Can’t make my mind up on him...

Missed this bloke when looking at squads of the promoted (and relegated) teams in here?

Re: Next Season's Squad.

Bit more in the Portuguese media re: what JG found when he arrived now on the Tilehurst End website https://thetilehurstend.sbnation.com/2019/6/12/18660216/jose-gomes-it-was-chaos-when-i-arrived-reading-fc-royals I think fair to say that we were a dire shambles by the time Gomes arrived. We weren't...

Re: Are we screwed?

Some good points Difficult to try and find an optimal solution. I just found it astounding that out of 22 players in the Europe League final, only one was English. Even then, if Bellerin is fit he's ahead of Maitland Niles. And to me, that's just wrong. And that's not even academy players, that's o...

Re: Are we screwed?

Honestly think they should make a new rule with "X" amount of academy players in the squad, and making it a reasonable amount. This should stop the ridiculous amount of foreign players (Chelsea Arsenal Europe league final anyone :| ) and could hopefully ease money problems if the money ca...

Re: Financial Fair Play

The ‘Swift to Leeds for 8 mil’ seems to have gone quiet, and if nothing else comes in, I’ll be ok if Gomes gets another season with him and see how it goes.

You’ve had some good insight.

Re: Rumour - Ovie Ejaria

I'd take Ovie in and Swift out for net cash any day. Swift has a bit more creative range of passing, and the odd sweet fk but he's about as hit and miss, older and Ejaria is far superior carrying the ball forward. Add Olise, Loader and maybe Barrett as competition and we're good. He can also cover ...

Re: Celtic Eye Moore

For any player at a club like ours, Celtic would be an incredible opportunity. To swap playing in front of 15k week in, week out to 58k is a draw. He will win trophies & Celtic are one of football's great clubs. Many players would love to experience an Old Firm game too. Add to that, European f...

Re: Rumour - Ovie Ejaria

Reportedly Reading would be Ovie's preferred destination https://www.readingchronicle.co.uk/sport/17695463.liverpool-midfielder-ovie-ejaria-likely-to-move-to-reading-ahead-of-the-201920-championship-season/ Would be good to get him in here early doors. Suppose that can be said of any player, but I ...

Re: Celtic Eye Moore

It's as if living most anywhere outside of 'in and around London' is basically viewed as undesirable. The anti 'up-norf' comments and rhetoric in here is quite surprising at times, whether that be Scotland or wherever. It's unnecessary (imo), esp as there are Royals fans living up and down the UK. I...

Re: Celtic Eye Moore

File this one as unlikely. With Moore, the transfer fee would have to be his "true value" + an extra to fee for compensate for the lack of depth in CB (experienced anyway). Would take a large fee thus, don't see that much in Scottish footie Well, for him he’d play CL footy. But anyway, ho...

Re: Celtic Eye Moore

No chance he will leave unless he wants to. It’s not a Mannone type situation. Same with Swift? Yep. He would still command a place in the side. The likes of Mannone and Edwards were not wanted so life was made uncomfortable for them. I’m sure the club would seriously consider offers for Swift but ...

Re: Celtic Eye Moore

Pretty sure player has to agree personal terms with the new club. Things don't usually progress far unless all parties are interested. I guess technically we might be able to sell his registration without consulting him, but who is going to buy unless he wants to be there and how are they going to ...

Re: Celtic Eye Moore

Moore wouldn’t go to the SPL, he’s more ambitious than that. Well, if we decided to sell him to Celtic and a transfer fee was agreed, they would inherit his contract. How much of a say would he have in it? They may not necessarily want to sell him, and neither may I, but he knows we have financial ...

Re: Are we screwed?

We're in the same dangerous territory we've been in for years. But a lot of the repairs have started. A tight, well motivated, drilled and dedicated squad can take you a long way in the Championship and there's plenty of promise in our Academy. With the work we're doing, even if the worst happens a...

Unfortunately as he was Dutch, it meant you're twice as likely to be criticised. I recall it being a bit of a theme amongst the occasionally hard of thinking. Like Urzzz I recall the Dutch players getting particular stick. I also remember Joey being unfairly singled out for criticism. Same for Beer...
