Re: BFTG - PNE

After the first few minutes on Saturday I thought we might be in for a good afternoon as Preston weren't doing what most teams do against us, which is close us down quickly, reduce our time on the ball, and force us into silly errors and gifts for the opposition. I was really surprised by that as I ...

Re: SPECULATION - Danny Williams

And who can forget Andy Hughes, Lesley Taylor and Karl Elsey Wish I could. Bizarrely, a bit like an exgirlfriend where you only remember the good parts of the relationship and not the petty arguments and the fact she was a mentalist, I now look back on Andy Hughes and only remember the occasional 3...

AthleticoSpizz Maybe he could do a job for us?

Knowing our luck, we'd sign him and he would spend most of the time injured.

Re: Rival Watch

Personally I quite like Birmingham City due to family supporting connections. It can still be an intimidating ground to visit in the modern age, some proper sometimes unhinged fans. Keep right on is a great club anthem too and very appropriate for a club that represents true Brummies in the shadow o...

Re: Rival Watch

The only player worth picking off the Bolton carcass would be Luca Connell, their 17 year old midfielder who has been their only glimmer of hope for the future. Unfortunately we would have to join a long queue behind several premier league clubs scouts, including Spurs who are reported to be trackin...

Bit disappointed we haven't been called tinpot yet, that's usually the first insult we get They're just a bit uneducated bless them, it's not their fault they've had to spend their whole life in that dump The plastic one has been wheeled out though, and even a comparison with MK Dongs, so I think t...

Re: The League of 4

I can't see Bolton beating Norwich on Saturday. After their wake up call at Preston last night they will be fired up not to repeat what happened, and Bolton are nowhere near Preston's current level. Ipswich may get a point at home to Stoke but given the quality that there is still in the Stoke side ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Sheffield Wednesday sponsored by Adrian Popa

It's Steve Bruce's first home game in charge so there will be an increased air of optimism I would imagine. If we concede early that will lift the place further and I can see a 2-0 or 3-0 defeat. If we can play as we have been for the last couple of weeks though and the defence is comfortable, we co...

Re: BFTG Villa

The referee for the Villa game Mr Eltringham has been demoted to League 2 for this weekend. He will be doing the Macclesfield v Crewe match. Ooof. Probably the lowest you can go without being given a game at all. I think you are being a bit harsh there on these two titans of Cheshire football going...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bolton Wanderers (a) sponsored by the need not ot lose

I agree with Nailsea's assessment. I thought we looked decent last night and were knocking the ball around nicely and controlling the game for the most part. We made Bolton look like the physical, limited but enthusiastic league one side they are! How Ameobi is a professional footballer I'm not sure...

Re: Who is the sexiest Reading player of all time?

Colin Gordon. It's just a shame that he didn't put as much effort and concentration in to heading the ball in the net, as he did flicking his glorious blond locks before the ball arrived in the box.

Re: The Next 8 games - Make or Break Time

I'm not sure if it was clever reverse psychology when Paul Lambert advised he ŵould stay on as manager even if Ipswich are relegated. Or just plain stupid as it sends completely the wrong, and a defeatist message. Unless Bolton can find a new owner soon they are destined for administration and a poi...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Interesting couple of facts. Forest have not played in the premier league since 1999, 20 years ago. In the last 20 years little old Reading have been promoted to the Premier league twice. The last time Reading played at Division 3 level was 2002. The last time Forest played in the Third Division was...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Maybe it makes up for the match in 1989 at the Vetch, when Swansea absolutely battered us for much of the game, yet we won 6-1. (3-0 up early on, they pulled it back to 3-1 on half an hour. They then attacked non-stop until about 20 minutes from the end, when we broke and added a 4th, followed by a...
