Re: Best XI in your lifetime. (Excluding the 106 team)

If it included the 106 team, I'd have Hislop over Hahnemann, A N Other over Convey and I'd have to fit Sigurdsson in somewhere. The thing that would give Ivar/Sonks and Kitson/Doyle the nod for me is the combination at CB of brains and brawn and up front, both Kitson and Doyle were intelligent, tir...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

If we look at the actual numbers we will see that the logarithmic multiplier feeds back a negative correlation into the daily rate (plus or minus rate multiplier) depending on what factor you choose. It's not inconceivable therefore that some time in the next 3 weeks there will be a move toward a c...

Re: Best XI in your lifetime. (Excluding the 106 team)

Surprised nobody's included Long - surely wouldn't get in for 05-07 but a contender for that playoff season.

Gonna play 4-2-3-1 for Gylfi.

Shaka
Gunter, Pearce, Dariusz, Armstrong
Leigertwood, Norwood
Kebe, Sigurdsson, McAnuff
Fozzy

Re: Finance

Jagermesiter1871 How come there isn't uproar that non-playing staff at Reading are being furloughed whilst there is no change to players pay?

Reading have been pretty bad to watch for most of the past seven or eight years, so unlike Liverpool and Spurs we don’t have many fans who still wet the bed.

Re: Finance

Yeah definitely not getting on the Thai hate train, they had our best interests in mind and clearly cared about the club. Weren’t quite rich enough to do all the financing, and they bungled both Clarke and McDermott, but overall they definitely get pass marks.

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

A friend told me it's not a virus it's just waves coming from 5G masts. The stats seem to fit this theory as countries with 5G masts seems to have deaths. Use your phone less. Presumably your friends brain transplant is delayed due to all the people being treated for the virus. Think it was cancell...

On page 27 there was mention of Angus MacDonald’s cancer diagnosis. He has had a successful colectomy and now has a clean bill of health.

Good article about his whole journey:

Re: Championship group administration possible ???

Terms like debt, investment, and borrowing shouldn’t be dirty words. We were eight figures into debt thanks to Mr Madejski’s investment in our stadium, but it allowed us to grow massively. Mr Madejski received a return on his investment - without some promise of that he might not have done it and we...

Re: Finance

Thing is a one off pardon won't help. At Reading it is now a cultural problem. Sign too many players. Sign too many not very good players. Pay them too much. Repeat. What makes us think anything will change. Why did we sign new players in January who did not improve the team, and have therefore not...

Re: Championship group administration possible ???

I know tabloid sports sections are generally less unreliable than their parent paper, but until a more reputable organisation confirms this story then I’ll assume it is just clickbait- desperately needed right now.

A total hair-brained scheme that is absolutely full of holes.

https://twitter.com/KieranMaguire/status/1247778318432079874?s=09 Just saw this on the Twitter. I thought our wages were higher than that. Does this mean we are just doing an awful job at making money rather than we hand out terrible contracts? Sorry, just how high did you think our wage bill was? ...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

John Salako has not been diagnosed with coronavirus. Seems to be using isolation as an opportunity to promote tournaments on EA Sport's FIFA 20. No h8 for the guy but we got him at the wrong end of his career. Really good in Division Two, fine in our first season in Division One, then not up to it. ...

Jagermesiter1871 Looking forward to Kingsley being sold to the owners next year for £45million. Running out of things to sell after him though.

We can't sell Kingsley. Heart and soul of the club. Sell Queensley.

Whichever we sell will just be leased back to us for £2m a year.

Re: Finance

It's incredible that the club can spend so much and be so consistently terrible. Is it six seasons out of seven now that we've been in or near a relegation battle? Ultimately it's down to poor recruitment, buying overrated and unmotivated players for fees that are too high, and paying them over the...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

Just spotted that Singapore, after apparently being very successful in containing the virus, are now starting to ‘lockdown’ after a second surge Again, just shows by flattening that first curve, it’s not really solving anything long term Just because you flatten the curve doesn`t mean the virus has...

Re: The Local Journo Thread

Pretty shambolic article all round. Stam left before Loader had even turned 18, and Clement and Gomes seemed to place a lot of faith in him.

Fair to say he hasn’t progressed or even really stepped up to the first team but getting into the stuff about his middle name is bizarre.
