Re: Who could replace Stam?

I've been mulling this over and some internal candidates could work. My suggestion would be someone who already took us close last season with his goals, namely Yann Kermorgant. He's got a wide experience of different footballing cultures and styles, has the right kind of leadership qualities and se...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Sheffield United (h) sponsored by Tony & Barry Wagstaff

Worst night I can remember

Should have been 6 or 7 to the blades.

I have 3 issues with Stam...
1. Team selection
2. Tactics
3. Motivation

Clement.... not a footballer
VdB..... ?

A team for our times I guess

Re: BFT Appalling mess at home

[/quote] I agree. To put the boy on and then take him off after having a mare of 15 minutes was completely destructive to the players progression as a Reading football club employee and totally selfish and in favour of Stam's own agenda. But Stam covered it up well in the interview, as always.[/quot...

Re: Gunter

My view: The 'media' bang on about how he is a great athlete ect ect. yet his performances underwhelm. Agreed he is not the worse performer at the moment, but for someone with his pedigree, he should be so much better. His positional sense always seems off to me and he doesn't contribute enough goin...

Re: BFTG Millwall

Let's get this straight, Stam choked at Wembley last season. I've dwelt a lot on what happened that day and I cannot get away from the fact that we didn't set ourselves up in any way to get a result that day. There was barely any forward motion, no penetration whatsoever and a lot of listless backw...

Re: BFTG Millwall

First away game for donkeys years. Slightly surprised at the change in approach early on, but the lack of vertical attacking intent remains and we don't seem to have an identity from game to game. I'd also say that what I find strange at them moment is that we have good players, but we are not a goo...

Re: Jaap's Radio Comments

Hmmmm.... as far as I was concerned the negative crowd reaction was to the decision to sub Kelly for Ilori. IE: directed at the manager's decis ion, not the players/team. Given we appear to have been sussed out by opposition managers, there are two options for Stam, He either shows maturity and tac...

Re: BFTG Swansea

What frustrates the hell out of me is that we sometimes create an imbalance during the possession/passing moments and look like we could exploit it with a change in rhythm or key forward pass...... but we don't.... inevitably the player, having gotten into a promising space, turns back and starts ag...

No idea, do you?

The trade off is the revenue they might generate through in game activities via fans' devices

I believe it's becoming a thing in sports stadia

Re: We should have a 2nd Screen

Be good if the club could provide free wifi connectivity at all home games too, I mean this is the 21st century after all. This, particularly if they want to engage fans in interactive stuff on our devices, such as the new points scheme suggests. Decent free WiFi should be a given. Dodgy reception ...

Re: BFTG (H) Brizzle

does anyone know what is up with Joe Mendes? I know his last performances haven't set the world alight, but we know he can score goals, he has pace and power was disappointed that he wasn't even on the bench is he injured or out of favour? hope Popa isnt also down the pecking order - i think he coul...

Re: Reading FC 1985/86

Senior was an instinctive striker. Sling the ball into the box and he'd find some way of getting part of his body into it and he wasn't afraid of getting a boot in the face in the process. Give time and space and he was clueless. We sold him to Watford and he returned via Middlesbrough. They'd taug...

Re: Rumour: Sone Aluko

That's actually debatable depending on how you want to classify "best". His uncle is professor of Chemical Engineering at Howard University in Washington Additionally he may not even be the best footballer in his family as his sister, Eniola, plays for Chelsea and England. Eniola is class...

Re: Upgrade for Gilksey

Can we expect now that all wingers will start to play like Gilksey i.e. lamp the ball towards the corner flag then do the full back in a straight race before delivering a pin point cross to their best mate in the stand behind the goal? Gilkesy in one of my top 5 club legend players so got to be gla...

Re: Rumour: Sone Aluko

But is he better than McCleary or Barrow? Will he have to wait for an injury to one of those two? And could Reading field 11 wingers yet? He's the best male member of the Aluko family.... That's actually debatable depending on how you want to classify "best". His uncle is professor of Che...
