Re: FA Cup 3rd Round Replay Match Thread - Liverpool (A)

Rarely post. Just to say....have been supporting Reading for 40 years now. Am as happy tonight as other great days/evenings following this club. For those that are in their early years of following Reading...enjoy tonight. You will have good times and you will have garbage times. Stay loyal..it make...

Re: Robin Friday

You would be hard pressed to name ANY other Reading player (past or present) that could multiply a home reserve team crowd by 10x. That is what Robin did in the very occasional time he played in a reserve game (coming back from injury and/or suspension). If you never saw him play...then I am sure yo...

Re: now i care

I have to agree with this thread. I rarely post on this board, yet Reading FC runs through my blood. I wondered whether my interest was starting to falter, but I am really looking forward to tomorrow. I feel I now know the new players, and what the management are trying to do. I would love it if Bre...

Out of interest, any idea of how many tickets we have managed to sell for Saturday?
I assume the initial 700 have gone?

Re: Season/Team Fears & Concerns - Season Review Pending

One fear for me - I hope the fans and the board give Rodgers the time that it will take. The team/squad is transformed and I feel like a breath of fresh air has swept through Reading Football Club, and taken a fair amount of staleness away with it. I loved the 05/06 Championship season, and I enjoye...

Re: New signings

So let me just check what has happened so far. We got relegated from the Prem, and then choked the playoffs. So a lot of folks on here called for Coppell to go. In amongst this time, a bucket load of players got slaughtered (Murty, Hannaman, Duberry, Lita, Rosenior, Shunt, Harper to name a few). So...

Re: Boycott Reading v Doncaster

Can all the muppets that plan to boycott the Reading v Doncaster game, also
boycott ever posting anything on HNA ? I've read some drivel on this board recently,
but some of the most recent garbage takes lunacy to a new level.

Enjoy your boycott. I'll be inside the stadium...cheering the team.

Re: Burton Albion

The crowd will not be as high as 5,000. There are NO urban buses on tonight, so anyone who normally catches a bus from Yateley, Farnboro etc etc are stuck. In addition, a number of the car parks and park&ride are closed. Attendances for the first couple of rounds of the Carling Cup are always pi...

Re: Team for Burton Albion

Makes me laugh when folks say they will / will not go to a game. Quite honestly, I couldn't give a hoot whether someone on HobNob wants to let everyone know whether they plan to go or not. That aside, let me do exactly that !! Having been a season ticket now for 30+ years, I have to say that I total...

Re: No.13 - Will We Turn Up?

100% YES. Not even up for debate in my book. First season ticket was 1980/1981 season, having already been going for 10 years prior to that. So have recently purchased season ticket for 30th consecutive season. Enjoy the good times, hate the bad times. It can't always be good, and it certainly isn't...

Re: League Cup 1st round draw

HC wrote "Must really ring home that how big that relegation from the Prem was a couple of years ago when you play Burton at home in round 1 of League Cup." Talking tripe pal. Reading have been in the first round of the League Cup for the vast majority of the time the competition has been ...

Re: Offical campaign to name the stands at reading

In reply to your valid question Parky, I think a lot of the 'dislike' boils down to passion. At Chelsea, if the home team scores....all you see are ten thousand camera's homing in on the players. Chelsea are now a soul-less club that have no stability (continually changing their manager) and barely ...

Re: Play-Off Tickets

Burnley sold their 2,100 allocation on the first day of sales (Monday). I doubt if any of those will NOT travel. The away end for next Tuesday is sold out completely. And as a matter of interest, although a handful of Burnley fans are complaining that we have the option of 3,000 tickets for their pl...

Re: Play-Off Tickets

Valid point Deathy.

My post was merely in answer to earlier posts that implied that the home leg may be
lacking in demand. In hindsight, I agree with you..my 'call' of '21000 minimum' is too low.
I am expecting either capacity, or very near to it.
It just MIGHT be one of those great nights !!

Re: Play-Off Tickets

Over 16,000 sold, for home leg, in first two days of going on sale...so yes,
I think folks are aware we are in the playoffs.
Crowd will be absolute minimum of 21,000...and more likely 22,500-23,500.
You watch.

Re: Play-Off Tickets

Just to help those that maybe are not regulars at home games, IF we get to Wembley then all rules go out of the window. What I mean by that is it does not matter in the slightest how many fans we have ! I took a coachload to the Simod Cup final....some of the folks on that coach never saw Reading pl...

Re: Play-Off Tickets

Went to stadium ticket office around 12.30 today. Steady stream of fans buying
tickets, but (thankfully) all windows open for sales. So, no real queue.
Took me less than 3-4 minutes.
At that time, we had sold over 800 for the away leg by the way.

Re: Sheff U - Watch on Tele or go to the game?

Best thread I've read in weeks.

I will be going tomorrow. I'd go whether we were top, 4th, 24th. I am a Reading FC fan, and
that is what fans do. So when I read a thread that some ' half hearted gloom merchants' are NOT
going to go...FANTASTIC.... made my day.
Enjoy your beer in town,

Re: OO AA Phillip Parkinson

Agree on the 'legend' and 'wore his heart on his sleeve' stuff etc etc.

Just disagree with singing his name all night. He's the manager of the opposition for
Christ sake !!!!
Give him an ovation - fine. Sing that stupid OO AA song - fine.
Then why not try and actually get behind READING
