Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

It's really difficult, as talented as the side is, to see Liverpool maintaining this level next season. They have lost just twice since the start of last season, five times in their last 93 games, and eight in their last 114. Their level surely has to drop.

Re: Wigan in Administration

Will they still be deducted the 12 points if they finish more than 12 points clear of the drop zone? I'd assume yes. That's how the penalty would normally be applied irrespective of league position (say, had they gone into administration in September). The punishment is the points deduction, not re...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

we haven't completed this season yet m8! a couple of key players leave or get injured loss of form/pace etc disruption in camp City/Chelsea put their hands in their deep pockets ...etc etc Think Chelsea could be one to watch next season, especially if their new striker hits the ground running and i...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

Think Chelsea could be one to watch next season, especially if their new striker hits the ground running and if Utd can continue some form into next season, it could make for a really entertaining season. If they get Havertz too (and they seem to be the only club with any cash to spend), they'll be...

That trim reminds me of the old Villa away kit.

Re: New Kits 2019/20

If that is actual Spurs then it's fcuking horrific. Dear me. 'Background' patterns is really a thing this year, isn't it? Chelsea kit looks better on Mason Mount than it does on a peg. https://static.standard.co.uk/s3fs-public/thumbnails/image/2020/07/01/08/chelseahome0107a.jpg-7.jpg?w530

Re: VAR

Wasn't particularly appealed but the Cahill one from last night was 'interesting' too - looked to me like he had his arm in the air and in front of his face when the ball struck it. I guess the short distance played a factor in the decision.

Also read this morning that Palace didn't touch the ball in Liverpool's penalty area.

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

Some slightly ridiculous defensive numbers coming out of Liverpool's game vs. Palace - as much as it was an easy win and Palace didn't get much of a sniff, you credit Van Dijk and Gomez for much of the latter. They touched the ball 273 times between them, of which a slightly mind-boggling 260 were p...

Old Man Andrews Dortmund agree deal to sign Jude Bellingham from Birmingham.

Good choice by the lad.

Re: European Leagues Thread 2012/2013

This probably came up at some point, but Celta Vigo got dispensation for an emergency transfer outside of the window after their reserve keeper got a long-term injury. So they signed Nolito, a striker. He scored on his debut at the weekend. Following the Martin Braithwaite stuff I'm beginning ...

Re: European Leagues Thread 2012/2013

Dortmund already have Haaland, Sancho and Gio Reyna - now Youssoufa Moukoko is apparently ready to set the Bundesliga alight once he turns 16 in November. Bundesliga has changed its rules on young players so that they are eligible as soon as they turn 16, rather than six months later. Moukoko scored...

Re: European Leagues Thread 2012/2013

44 goals now this season for Haaland. Can't immediately think of a 19 year old other than Pele who might have scored 50 goals in a season. And Pele's early goals are asterisked. Ronaldo (the original one) never hit that mark. Eusebio only once, at 26 years old. Gerd Muller at the same age. Romario d...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

Was surprised Gomez didn't start at centre-back - not the first time Klopp has made a tactical change at the back, having dropped him for Lovren at Watford. I don't get it myself. Liverpool have conceded something like five in 16 games when Van Dijk and Gomez start together. (Not that Matip did anyt...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

Surprised Salah didn’t get a run out today, even if he did have a slight knock Everton Liverpool at Goodison is almost always an inevitable 0-0 now, 4 of the last 6 matches have now ended 0-0 there with another 0-0 up until the 94th minute As much as it was totally expected, and as much as Everton ...

Re: 2019/20 Season - How will it end?

Had no idea that Shevchenko has been Ukraine manager since 2016. And he's only lost five times in 33 games.
He's still only 43 years old, which is nuts. He got shit in his 20s.

Re: VAR

Would appear correct those who noted that on the basis that the GDS was deemed to be working, VAR didn't intervene, i.e. GDS 'correctly' gave no goal. But nevertheless it seems plain silly of the PL this morning to say that they have 'no plans' to review the use of VAR. Would seem a very simple adde...

Re: CheLOLsea

Read a couple of interesting articles praising Lampard's influence at Chelsea, both on the playing side and off the pitch, in particular in securing the Ziyech and Werner transfers. Seems to be considered that Frank is building something pretty competently at the club. Chelsea have hit a bit of a fi...

Re: 2019/20 Season - How will it end?

Why isn't Ederson sent off for endangering another player? Are the laws specific to it being an opponent? If he does that to Aubameyang, it's a straight red. No word yet on Garcia - let's hope it is nothing more serious than concussion. Guardiola says he is conscious but needs tests in hospital. Wh...
