Re: Which was the worst relegation and why?

2008 – but not because we had a decent team and should not have gone down, but because we had an ok team that had over-performed in 06-07, and that we failed to improve on to establish our place in the league. Complacency? Who knows. OK, I'm confused. In 2006/7 we had a OK team. In 2007/8 we had a ...

Re: Our last goal that meant something?

I'd go for Kebe's winner against Sunderland. That was the last time I felt any belief that we might avoid relegation.

Re: Brits Abroad

Not technically a 'Brit' but Robbie Keane has 23 goals in 35 games for LA Galaxy, since he joined them last season.

Re Carson and Ferdinand - was reading recently that one of the attractions of Turkey is the 15% rate of income tax. £££££.

Maybe I'm giving Anton too much credit, but for me he talks a good game. Those responses might have come from Adkins.

Re: BFTG v QPR

and as Mick Gooding said, he's not being played through the middle which is his preferred position Except he was played through the middle for a large chunk of his performance. He may well come good at some point in the future but right now he looks like he's way out of his depth and a bum signing....

Re: QPR (H) Match Thread, sponsored by the wooden spoon

He's not a premier league player - he's totally out of his depth, but that's not his fault - but from what I've seen of him, he'll be fine for us in the Championship - happy to be reminded of this come the end of next season if he's been completely useless. Fine, will be great if you're proven righ...

Re: Fair Play - Reading in Europe?

We've never played in Europe in our history. This looks unlikely, but any fan who wouldn't want to see us play in the Europa League, even if its just some miserable outpost in Armenia before capitulating at home in the second leg, is absolutely mental.

Re: QPR (H) Match Thread, sponsored by the wooden spoon

How Blackman gets in the team is a joke. Based on today, he won't even be good enough for the champ That's rubbish. He'll be fine in the championship and probably one of our better players eventually. Seriously, on what are you basing that? When he joined us, he had scored 6 goals from open play in...

Re: Luis Suarez - scumbag

There have been managers of that club in past who would've put their responsibility to Liverpool ahead of any feeling towards an individual player. They understood that the club they helped build was far more important than massaging ego's of people like Suarez. You seem to have forgotten that Live...

Re: Luis Suarez - scumbag

You should be proud of your sarcasm. It is positively dripping from that post. For a start, Rodgers hasn’t defended Suarez’s actions, you’ve made that up. Rodgers comments, in order – compare Suarez’s punishment to those received for similar incidents, then condemn his actions, and then talk about w...

Re: Luis Suarez - scumbag

As I said, a balance between condemning him - which he has done, more than once - and not wanting to alienate the player into demanding a move. I don't think Rodgers played it badly at all - in fact the comparison made on this thread to Dalglish's handling of the previous affair is ridiculous.

Re: Luis Suarez - scumbag

Suarez is guilty of course, but a stat from the LFC forums which made me .

The FA has completed 473 disciplinary hearings this season, and found the player guilty on 471 occasions.

Might be behind Liverpool's decision not to appeal even only the length of the ban.

Re: Luis Suarez - scumbag

Apart from ignoring all the evidence, the nature of the repeat offense and FA processes to construct a case around this I'd completely agree. He has not let me down one bit Yes - a fair and balanced view of the proceedings. It really sums up everything wrong with the game today. Far from los...

Re: Luis Suarez - scumbag

Wow - Rodgers really lost the plot there. I can't see the American Owners being very happy with this. "We are shocked and bitterly disappointed," said Rodgers. "It is the severity of the ban which has hurt most. That is something we are bitterly disappointed with. "I can only co...
