Re: Rival Watch

As a fan in the East Mids it’s great to see Barnsley come back up. But for Reading it would’ve been better to see Pompey do it and then Charlton. We’ve had so many northern games (great for me) in the past few years...would be great for fans down there to have some more localish games! Disappointed...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

Yeah, the midfield appearance was ridiculous. And like I’ve said before I’m not saying the signing was good - it was rather pointless. I just find it harsh when people call him an awful footballer because I think he’s generally been steady when playing. Although getting paced by Chris Martin was a b...

Re: Season 2018/2019

What's the point of making predictions if you don't look back at some time and see how you did? No-one's stopping you from privately reflecting on your own success but no-one else really gives a shit, particularly when you have year old drafts of your posts saved in Word, poised and ready and parti...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

Denvers, I had my doubts about O'Shea's value as a coach and that being what we'd brought him in for under Clement. Gomes seems to have an established coaching team, and has brought in his own consultant too. On that basis I find it doubtful he wants to take on O'Shea in a coaching role. A lot was ...

Re: Speculation - Players From The Relegated Trio

No they wouldn't but please if you know any get on the phone and let them know. Harsh on Blackett. Gunter probably would as well, other four I don't see Well we know at least Wigan wanted Blackett. Dont know what everyone's issue with Richards is. I don't have an issue with Richards. At this moment...

John Smith
Snowball Other Champ clubs would fancy McNulty, Kelly, Gunter, Jaakola, Blackett, Richards

No they wouldn't but please if you know any get on the phone and let them know.

Re: The Danny Loader conundrum

This is where I'm slightly confused, Gomes doesn't see Loader as a striker, hence why he plays him as part of the 3 behind the striker. Even against West Brom when we had no recognised striker on the pitch, he was still playing in the hole with McCleary and Barrow rotating up front Surely there's n...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

Yeah possibly, maybe Saturday was half an hour for Harriott to show what he's got with the game against Birmingham being his last chance considering he hadn't played for a while before Boro. Personally thought he was poor, he seems to have a real problem controlling the ball, kept bouncing off him, ...

Re: The Danny Loader conundrum

Lets face it, with Baldock, Bodvarsson and Oliveira not being here next season I would imagine we will need Danny Loader so as much as I think he isn't the answer he might be our only hope so theres no point in doing anything other than backing him to the hilt. This is where I'm slightly confused, ...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

wonder when we'll start to see the first leaks of players staying/not staying? Been a few comments from the likes of McNulty and Gomes himself about 'when we are safe' there will be conversations. I reckon all the OOCs will know in the next few days tbh I think the players will now be aware whether...

Re: Rival Watch

Order of preference would be Boro>West Brom>Bristol>Derby>Leeds/Villa Boro and West Brom are harmless, but would probably prefer Boro because as Denver said, West Brom's treatment of Moore was disgraceful (almost like Derby and Clement a few seasons ago  ) Plus would rather get Pulis out the d...

Re: The League of 4

Tbf we’ve dropped 10 points from winning positions in April alone, we’re not that far behind of Rotherham in that respect And let’s be honest, their squad is awful, I think they’ll be proud of their achievements this season, especially considering how they must have felt after being thumped 5-1 on t...

Re: BFTG - Boro (A)

Not much to say really, an early goal scored, yet again we drop points from a winning position. They attacked us all of the first half from their right hand side and we did nothing to combat it Martinez 7 - some decent saves Yiadom 5 - looked a threat going forward but partially at fault for both go...

Re: The only slightly more advanced than shots/possession statistics thread

Ram Srinivas ( @ramesss ) has provided another chart on Championship full backs, this time showing Yiadom as significantly different to Blackett/Gunter, with the second highest successful dribbles of all full/wing backs in the league, at 4.1 a game. Gunter and Blackett both hover just below the lea...

Re: The League of 4

Just seen that Millwall v Stoke kicks off at 1.30pm tomorrow. Seems very unfair on both Millwall and Rotherham given that a win for Millwall will more or less kill off Rotherham and could effect their performance at WBA. Personally don't think games like this should be moved in the final month of t...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

Most our corners are really poor but McClearys corners are the worst, little floaty corners either straight into the goalies hands or with such little pace no momentum is generated. Swifts aren’t much better mind, 9 out of 10 hit the first man or go off the pitch with the other one being a peach. Se...

Re: Which of the loanees would you prioritise?

I see your point but even so in that season we made 16 signings, we could have almost made a matchday squad of them and I think unfortunately that was just the start of the sinking ship And tbf, you could keep going back and back and then point to Clarke's ridiculous signings, 2 million on a loan! M...

Re: Which of the loanees would you prioritise?

And this isn't forgetting some of the flops in 2016 like Weiser, Rakels, Gravenberch, Mendes (sorry), even the likes of Evans (slightly harsh because he did feature a bit but I just didn't see a thing that he brought) and Harriott Yeah, a transfer is always a risk but generally would estimate we've ...
