Re: BFTG - Derby

Was Pleased for Appiah - he seems to have been trying a little too hard in previous games, and looked consequently looked a bit iffy, but if we can harness his positives I think he can be a decent signing. He hassles defenders into rushed passes and mistakes, stretches defences, has the pace to get ...

Re: Safe standing end?

- create a cheaper season ticket or match day ticket price for people who may not currently be able to afford to go . A lot of people, not necessarily yourself, have the daft notion in their heads that if standing was brought back, you'd be able to get in cheaply, like in Germany. If League Two clu...

Re: Safe standing end?

So basically that's the same as it has been for a long time. Get in the Prem, look like we're going to stay there and then extend the ground (possibly with safe standing included) Common sense.... If you're thinking of this purely in terms of ground expansion, yes you're right, but I think that is ...

Nameless
ladida_gunner_graham Solid at the back, created plenty of good chances. Not been able to say that for a while about a Reading performance......

Not since Monday in fact. A whole 5 days !!

Sadly, didn't see the game Monday, so couldn't in good conscience say it. Regretting that now....

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2014/15

Connor Shaughnessy - had a habit of miscontrolling the first touch and putting himself under pressure. When under control the pass was often good though. Agreed, gave the ball away in a couple of dangerous situations too. Villa left back had the better of Owusu all night. Also agree. Despite the fa...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2014/15

Kelly did have a good game tonight. Lovely free kick, but could have had a hat-trick. Reading were not great, several of the higher profile players didn't really show up (Owusu, Novakjokavic in particular) but we never looked under pressure. Solid at the back, created plenty of good chances. Not bee...

Re: Oliver Norwood i like him

linkenholtroyal I don't rate Williams that highly

I think you'll get less consensus on that view...
linkenholtroyal Edwards
Kuhl
Norwood
Taylor

...especially with a midfield as lightweight as this one.

Re: Oliver Norwood i like him

I know he has had a lot of stick on here recently, so I felt it was about time I posted that I think Norwood is possibly the best outfield player reading have got (other than Mackie maybe) at the moment. He plays with heart he can pass the ball ( which Mccleary, HRK and many others really cant do)....

Re: Safe standing end?

Cureton's Volley Why exactly would they make the family zone the standing area?

That's hardly a showstopper. Maybe we could move the family zone, or is it glued down with that Gorilla stuff?

Re: Rotherham Match Thread - Sponsored By Clolarkelol

Watching the replays of the two Rotherham goals, it's quite tough to find a single Reading defender who does the basics, makes to right decision, anticipates the opposition.....anything. Anderson's "attempted" saves look truly amateurish. Kelly replaced Gunter in every sense by failing to ...

Re: Safe standing end?

Shouldn't you pick holes at the Emirates before you start attacking our fans? Oh dear. We do seem to have jumped to conclusions and gone in with both booties, don't we. I am not now, nor have I ever been, an Arsenal fan. I proudly hold a Reading season ticket. If I was an Arsenal fan, I'd be impres...

Safe standing end?

Is there any discussion of, or appetite for, a safe standing end at the Mad Stad? The general lack of atmosphere could be improved and it also provide a cheaper option for those who may otherwise not go to the home games. Is this even an option in English football? Is it a conversation point within ...
