Re: BFTG - Brighton

Have noticed the body language of Adkins and coaching staff for past couple of home games. When we went 2 down against Wigan, Adkins basically just sat down until half time. Against Forest my son commented on how little time Adkins spent in the technical area. Not sure how much he can really see sat...

Re: Buyout

SJM needed to sell a stake to fund some of his other business operations. He is now relaxed about what is happening as his immediate cash flow problems were resolved by AZ's cash. AZ is complete history and won't be seen at RFC again - apparently his dad gave him the money for the first tranche and...

Re: Madejski comments on club ownership

Did he say that AZ was committed to the club or did he say that he and AZ both had a common interest in wanting to see the club promoted to the PL again? Subtle but massive difference. His words/answers (and probably the questions themselves) were very carefully scripted. I wouldn't say he lied but...

Re: Financial Problems or not???

Reckon the cost of a squad overnight stay is pretty paltry compared to the wage bill. Not sure this is the best indicator for a club recently relegated from the Prem.

Adkins to play strongest team

Clearly resulting in a 0-3 loss. Guthrie and Pog to be sent off. Federici comes on up front for the last 20 minutes

Re: Buyout

(Woolworths Online department was moved to a seperate entity before the company was liquidated) Entertainment UK was the wholesale arm of Woolworths supplying many of the major supermarkets with their CDs and DVDs. It had been a separate entity for a long time before the administration. I believe E...

ALF to Huddersfield? They need another goal scorer. Perhaps we could get Vaughan coming in this direction?

Re: I actually liked the fans on Wednesday

Commented on the Atmosphere post already. Poor turnout from the East Stand (half way to North Stand) - many blue seats. Couldn;t see what the North Stand looked like (as that's where I sit)

Big kudos to all those sitting in the front 20 rows and getting utterly drenched too

Re: Danny Williams

Probably needs to play in a midfield three. tbf -Adkins has moved him on several occasions to "right midfield" (it happened again yesterday), and he is clearly not comfortable in that position. I have been told that Adkins doesn't believe he's a 90 minute a game man either - thinks he's mo...

Re: Why can't we create?!

Guthrie can't 'bring the ball forward' if he doesn't have a central midfield partner to pass to. He can't thread a ball down the wing if McCleary is static. A ball-playing midfielder will only be as effective as the players around him. Gunter and McCleary hug the touchline too much and are too far ...

Re: Le Fondre - Come and get me plea

I thought Sidwell was only on 4k per week, and was offered 15k at the start of the Prem season. Either way, he's still one of my favourite Reading players because he showed true professionalism throughout that season, unlike a number of others have done subsequently.

Thought today how much we could have used Noel Hunt's energy, running into the channels and winning hos fair share of headers

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Mixed bag of comments form the Forest fans. Most thought they threw away two points as a result of Billy Davies' substitutions, and they need a striker. A lot thought we were crap though so have included some of their comments "Reading Didn't turn up for 94 minutes" "We could of quite...

Re: Why can't we create?!

A McCarthy, W Bridge, C Gunter, A Pearce, S Morrison, J McAnuff (H Robson-Kanu, 74), D Guthrie, R Drenthe (D Williams, 68), J Karacan (G McCleary, 83), A Le Fondre, N Blackman. This is the team that tore into Watford for 60+ minutes. Missing Karacan's energy, but interestingly we played with a very ...

Re: BFTG Forest

Strangely I thought they weren't that good - however second half they just played through us - the number 7 stood out. Which shows how poor we were. Agreed. Thought they were quite pedestrian in their build up play.- Interestingly we got back into the game once they substituted Chaleobah (no 7). La...
