Re: Drenthe - Would you have him back???

We have to give him a go. We cant expect to shift his wages off our books just like that. Doesn't work like that. Err. hang on, we can't expect to shift his wages off our books by loaning / selling him to Wednesday who want him and are already paying a proportion of his wages, so instead we should ...

Re: Drenthe - Would you have him back???

I'd be tempted to have a look if I was Steve Clarke given how little attacking options we had on the bench last Saturday

Re: Chris Gunter

Hopefully Gunter will now stop cutting back inside and passing square, slowing down our pace and tempo. He looked better yesterday when he went forward with some real purpose and desire

Re: Alex Pearce - Captain

Just wonder whether Adkins thought Gunter would only be a short term appointment as team captain while Karacan got back to full fitness and starting regularly. Let's not forget that it looked like Karacan was getting close to a return after a few weeks of the season and took part in some of the pre-...

Re: Pogrebnyak Speaks Out!

Pog is a decent finisher. He just doesn't get into the same number of goal scoring positions that Murray has been doing. But then Pog works a lot harder, defending from the front. I think that's one reason why we've been poor defensively as Murray is more of a goal hanger (which would be fine if he ...

Re: BFTG - Watford (H)

thought one issue we had with Norwood yesterday was it seemed similar to when Guthrie was trying to run the midfield. Our defenders constantly looked to play the ball to Norwood for him to distribute, but that gives the oppo an extra second or two to regroup and get men behind the ball. We looked mo...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Given that jellyboy can't even spot the difference between McCleary and Murray (even when at that end of the pitch) I don't think he can really comment on whether it was a bookable offence which led to Angella being sent off! As for newforesthorn's comment about fans streaming away with five minute...

Re: BFTG - Watford (H)

Like other games this year, we weren't bad, but we weren't good either. Bad mistake from McCleary for the goal - left people out of position. Can't see why Watford are pushing at the top of the table. Thought they were decidedly average even when they had 11 men on the pitch. Couldn't work out their...

Clarke's first team

Haven't seen a thread for this yet. I'm not sure what he will do. I think he's naturally a little more cautious than Adkins. Will we see any of our "injured" players making miraculous recoveries? Guthrie, Pog? So my guess at a team is this - a basic 4-4-2 Feds Gunter Pearce Hector Obita Mc...

tidus_mi2 "For a nil-nil it was pretty entertaining" - Neil Lennon.

Just saw that as well. Made me smile. Football in Scotland must be pretty dire if that was entertaining

Re: CONFIMRED - Glenn Murray on loan

On today's performance he can go back to Palace in January. Isn't the right type of player to be the lone striker, doesn't work hard enough and gets too isolated.

Nuremberg Royal Interesting comparisons made and certainly thought provoking .....
On a lighter note I wonder if losing Alf has had the same impact as losing Luis Suarez
