Re: BFTG Bournemouth - sponsored by no midfield

I know it's a minor issue, but that said can have a big impact. Our throw ins seem to be taken so slow. Every one of Bournemouth's throw ins on Saturday were taken quickly, catching out our players every time. We take so long to actually take a throw in that all of our players are marked by our opp...

Re: BFTG Bournemouth - sponsored by no midfield

Gorkss 5 - Grabban didn't really cause Gorkss any problems, but the guy is a lower leagues defender, looks shaky on the ball, and he is the architect of most of our punts upfield. . Staggered by these comments - were there two Gorkss on the field? - because we saw a very different one play. Leaving...

Re: Guthrie

Just had a look at the midfield for the Watford game, which was our best performance to date. Guthrie Karacan McAnuff Drenthe Blackman with Le Fondre up front on his own, and Gunter and Bridge as the full backs. If I remember correctly, Karacan played the role of Guthrie's water carrier and the othe...

AthleticoSpizz Gorkss will always be their whipping boy, despite his decent appearances since his recall.

Re: BFTG Bournemouth - sponsored by no midfield

WTF were McCleary and Williams doing swapping places midway through the second half!? Part of Nige's masterplan - looked to me like he was trying to play a 4-3-1-2 formation, with McCleary being the 1 between the midfield and the forwards? It's not the first time he's brought McCleary inside this s...

Re: BFTG Bournemouth - sponsored by no midfield

Think Gorkss is getting a hard time on here. I reckon he's been alright in the past two home games (can't comment on away performances). Wins almost every header and I think Pearce is better playing with Gorkss along side, and being the right hand centre back (his natural side?) which is usually Mor...

Re: BFTG Bournemouth - sponsored by no midfield

Utterly wrong. You're advocating two flat banks of four. Exactly the sort of football that will get us relegated, nevermind playoffs. It's only a slow passing approach because every time our playmaker gets the ball, he looks at two static wingers, a midfield partner picking his nose, and two strike...

Re: Jordan Obita

I'm not sure what his best / natural position is. I don't think he's an out and out winger as he rarely beats a man on the outside. Think he will benefit from playing with Wayne Bridge.

Re: BFTG Bournemouth - sponsored by no midfield

since Pardew was in charge (and with the notable exception of the Rodgers period), all our managers have set the team up in a certain way. If players were injured or suspended, then they came and slotted into a system they all understood and knew their roles in the team. With Adkins, he changes the ...

Re: Jordan Obita

Obita played a lot of the first half in the centre with Kanu on the left, and then in the second half I think he was told to play a little deeper in a midfield three, with McCleary trying to play between the lines (which didn't work at all)

Re: BFTG Bournemouth - sponsored by no midfield

Wrong team and formation. We should play 4-4-2 and not change because the opposition play 5 in midfield. I dont remember coppell changing formation for anyone. Dropping pog was criminal. Especially replacing the shite robson kanu. We are good when we play quickly. Totally agree. If opposition play ...

Re: BFTG Bournemouth - sponsored by no midfield

Really poor - and Guthrie was at the heart of it all. Enough said. I expect to be shot down in flames, but I think Guthrie is the problem with the team. Plays too deep, plays his team mates into problem positions, can't tackle but worst of all, kills all attacking momentum by constantly going sidewa...

Re: Back from the game ..... charlton

Humanistic So, on the evidence of tonight, Cummings or Kelly for left back on Saturday?

think there's a double decision. Think it's either cummings & McAnuff or Kelly & Obita. Not sure I'd want to see Cummings & Obita together. I reckon Cummings may get the nod for Saturday though

paddy20 Hope our fitness hasn't dropped with the arrival of the new sports scientist. We looked totally knackered at the end and we had an extra days rest from last Friday

Said the same thing in an earlier post about our fitness levels being low

Re: Back from the game ..... charlton

It was a borderline yellowcard dive, Pearce touched him slightly so he got away with it. Poor from McCarthy though, if he'd came and collected he would have got there 10 minutes before Church. Thought Kelly was the defender? Incident was right in front of me in the North Stand and it looked pretty ...

Re: Back from the game ..... charlton

A word about Royston Drenthe: There was not a chance that he was getting on the pitch tonight, Adkins obviously just put him on the bench to keep him happy. His 'warming-up' right in front of me on the sidelines was a an absolute embarrassment. After a bit of skill practice at HT he left the pitch ...

another decent performance tonight. His work rate was excellent. If I was HRK I would be embarrassed that Pog did all my chasing and closing down for me, even though Pog had been on the pitch a lot longer.

Like Forest, QPR and Watford did? We seem to struggle this year against the lesser teams but hold our own with the promotion chasers

Re: Back from the game ..... charlton

Jobi needs to show a bit more composure in front of goal. He got into three good positions tonight and then tried to blast the cover off the ball each time, succeeding in doing nothing other than endangering the fans. he was clearly knackered at the end as well, but we had 4 players starting tonight...
