Re: Theoretical: Sack Stam and replace with ...?

If Wales failed to qualify for the World Cup and Chris Coleman stepped down would he be an option in the event of Stam departing? Got a very poor track record in club football, would be skeptical. I used to watch Fulham a bit in Coleman's day, living near by. He was pretty popular there and did a g...

Re: Theoretical: Sack Stam and replace with ...?

its almost the opposite of what that Fulham fan who came on here said though Its difficult to compare. Millwall rinsed Leeds who were top at the time, but have since been beaten at home by Barnsley It looked like Men vs Boys when we played Villa (a quote from their own forum) but they have since won...

I'm blaming Mo Barrow for getting injured vs Brizzle.

everything was going swimmingly to that point

Re: Why do the U21's play 4-4-2 when the 1st XI play 4-6-0?

This is what I hate most about poor runs of form - not the players, not the manager, but the fans using it to have a pop at every little tiny thing the club does  Seriously - TINY? Playing without a striker and averaging one attempt on target - TINY?? Oh please. That's pretty clearly not what...

Re: Why do the U21's play 4-4-2 when the 1st XI play 4-6-0?

I did find it interesting that this year we have gone very much with an U21 side, whereas last year, if I recall we were playing the likes of Anssi, Mendes and other fringe players Don't think there was a rule change or anything, just a choice. However may be wrong on that Actually surprises me if w...

Re: Gunter

Whilst I was thinking about it I had a look at Gunter's crossing accuracy stats: This season it's 9%, compared to 56% for Blackett and 25% for Obita (from 23, 18 and 8 crosses respectively). Across their Reading Championship careers it works out roughly like this: Player / 90 min Equiv / crosses / ...

Re: In or Out?

I do kind of agree with Samuel to an extent

Said at the time we should have held onto him for August and let him go before the transfer window shut

Though obvs there would have been a fair chance he'd have got injured in that time and scuppered the transfer

Re: Royals on the Box/Internet Thread

Hull away the last I can remember (bar Fulham obvs). Oh and Brighton but think that's basically As it was 2nd vs 3rd

I suppose it's not a surprise. Reading is basically next door to Sky, prob a cheap date for them

Re: Royals on the Box/Internet Thread

Happy for us to be on Sky. But would really rather it's be one of our many trips to northern wastelands rather than Sat 3pm home games

Re: Players you'd like us to sign thread

We bid for Oliveira and Hemed, probably a few others. Because our DOF has very little knowledge of what is available in the English leagues. Hammond would have found someone without a doubt. thats nonsense I think everyone was pretty happy with the signings we made - Barrow looks an absolute bargai...

Re: Aluko and Readings promotion hopes.

I think he'll work well with Barrow. He needs to go right on to the full back, not pi$$ing about in CM or CF Its almost like things started going wrong for us the minute Barrow went off against Brizzle. Barrow Yann Aluko front line is probably where we want to end up. McCleary and Popa as cover and ...

Re: Aluko and Readings promotion hopes.

How much was he? The fee that was going through my mind during his Saturday horror-show was £7.5 million. That was the fee that the newspapers reported. In reality it was no where near, even if you include the add-ons. its one of those where someone speculated that amount and suddenly it becomes fact

Re: Theoretical: Sack Stam and replace with ...?

It seems a few people thought we were all right on Saturday from other clubs I think the issue was it is a culmination of games. If it was a one off on Saturday, you could say we defended quite well except the second goal, and looked tidy. But we know we were just seeing the same failings as we've s...

Re: Aluko and Readings promotion hopes.

Tbf the only time I can remember him taking a shot was when he smashed the bar from 25 yards and he hasn't been hoofing crosses or chances into the crowd

The disappointing thing has been the thing I thought he'd bring in spades which was movement and invention

Re: Aluko and Readings promotion hopes.

FFC14 They'd be a handful of other teams, including Reading that would've taken points from us on Friday in the same circumstances. IMHO.

Ha, most definitely not on recent performances.
