Re: January Outs

I think it’s been made clear that FFP is a big factor in our budgeting right now. I have no idea how our finances stack up but I would think the recent sales will have had a significant positive effect. You are right that the owners have extremely deep pockets (although how much of their wealth is ...

Re: January Outs

A lot of people on here are making the assumption that the amount of money available to the club to spend is dependent on internal things like transfer fees and salaries. Might it just be dependent on what the owners want to spend? They own the club and all it's assets, it doesn't matter really if ...

Re: January Outs

Penguins are much better than wagon wheels. You had a Penguin recently? not what they used to be. Sadly not had one in years. Do they still have jokes on them? It did, but it was even by their standards, was pretty bad. To be completely honest I was so disappointed after the initial excitement it e...

No doubt endless clauses over the next 35 years.
They've probably given us £75k, a can of vimto and a wagon wheel upfront

Could have been much worse they might have thrown in a penguin.

Penguins are much better than wagon wheels.

Re: January Outs

Am I the only one excited that we are finally involved in a proper TDD merry go round.
No love lost over the outs and a proper clear out happening for good or worse i am fully invested into to it.

Re: Rumour - Mo Barrow

Think we'd be a bit light on the wing if Barrow goes, can we trust Harriott to stay fit? Think we do. Ejaria, Harriot, McLeary all naturally have the width. Bod and Baldock (if he ever back) have had decent games shunted out wide. Meite (if he stays) can do a job out there, if we have Oliveria in t...

Re: Rumour - Mo Barrow

Anyway - I am still thinking that if we sell Barrow we could then get in a proper LB - we have been screaming for one since 2017 I think someone has read an article or listened to an interview and tried to force a large problem about society in general into a discussion about a Reading player being ...

Re: Rumour - Mo Barrow

I go to watch football to be entertained. He is the only current Reading players where, when he gets on the ball and starts running at defences, the expectation in the crowd is audible. I go to watch Reading win preferably in an entertaining way. Not watch Mo produce no goals and do oxf*rd all hard...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bolton Wanderers (a) sponsored by the need not ot lose

To single out Aluko for the equaliser is a bit harsh. Blackett was doing squat on edge of 6 yard box, Barrow and Loader standing still doing jack. Rino come out to cover way too late. Bolton had 2 other players unmarked in the 6 yard box. Who is shouting at these players out there, we have zero voi...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bolton Wanderers (a) sponsored by the need not ot lose

Six Points have dropped v Brentford, Rotherham and Bolton with 90 minute plus goals conceded away from home. We also let a two goal slip at Blackburn. Those eight points lost would make a big difference to our season. Yep, been saying it for some time. Need to win at least half dozen games 1-0 away...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Aston Villa (h) sponsored by not long to desperation

Are we back at a point of picking Aluko to play down the wing / out wide? Its either Swift OR Aluko down the middle for me and I think Harriott just edges it for me ahead of Barrow Martinez Yiadom Miazga Moore Blackett Rino Bacuna Harriott Aluko Ejaria Oliveira Walker, Swift, Baker, Barrow, Bodvarss...

Re: Rumour - Mo Barrow

Ability to put decent ball in the box is a far greater weapon than pace out on the wing. Getting to the by line and not being able to put a ball in is quite useless tbh.
All Barrow does is give us an out ball option on the counter. I wont be sad if he goes and I dont think we will miss him one bit.

Re: Rumour - Mo Barrow

If we got an offer of £2m and invested all of it in a hungrier, younger winger then I am all over it. It is all about the replacement for me, if we can't get someone in who is better than Barrow then what is the point? I'd even be happy with investing in a proper LB instead and use players already ...

Latest club to be linked is Hibs https://www.edinburghlive.co.uk/sport/football/hibs-trying-sign-reading-striker-15746524 Did we really pay £1.5 million for him? With alll our deals being "undisclosed" it's only when other clubs make prices known that we get a better idea. There is a goal...

Re: Tiago llori

This does worry me a bit for next season once all the loans go back, oshea and mcshane run out of contract and we only have Moore as a senior centre back. I get the feeling this is a bit short sighted unless any of the U23s look like they are going to suddenly push up I dont know enough about them....

Re: CONFIMRED - New Keeper Emiliano Martinez

The GK problem was evident against Derby. Derby shut off the short ball and pushed right up. Goal kick was taken 'long' and we weren't set up for it and Derby mopped up everything. Their forward was left onside by the CBs being split and wide on the 18 yard line. I would like to think that the long ...

Re: Tiago llori

Rumblings that this is now a done deal and Ilori will go to Sporting Lisbon but not until Reading have a replacement. Therefore presume Reading will be looking for a pacey ball playing centre half from somewhere. Ah so thats why he played like he couldn't give one single oxf*rd on Saturday. He was ...
