Re: January Transfer Window

Bit gutted about Barrett. I thought he was excellent against Plymouth early in the season with two superb strikes, but he then got very few chances since.

I wish him well and hope that the new opportunity works well for him.

He might turn out to be one that got away.

Re: Upset the Apple cart.

Yiadom is the only one I'd send straight back in; a pure like for like upgrade on Gunter. Otherwise, the system is working so stick with it. There will be injuries etc. The players you mention will get chances, but for now they must be patient while the team is winning. Dropping Gunter would be biz...

Re: BFTG - Derby

1- we were shit - a tad harsh after a 3-0 win 2 - ref seemed shit - very harsh. I cannot think of any major decisions he got wrong 3 - swift came on and we started being less shit. - agreed Swift did well But we can't have asked more from the boys in the circumstances (not their fault they were up ...

Re: BFTG - Derby

Adam 9 But for a couple of missed passes, would have been ten.Even at his advanced age, makes you realise what a great player he was. However did Blackpool get hold of him.  Shocking passing since the goal and too slow. 6 tops. Somewhere between the two for me. Some of his forward pass...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Queens Park Rangers (h) sponsored by a Merry Christmas to one and all

Personally I would stick with the same starting 11 as yesterday on the basis that Rino has been excellent in the DFM role this season and was ill yesterday and so provided he recovers health I think he deserves his spot. And Swift is only just coming back from injury and so giving how 30-35 minutes ...

Re: BFTG - Derby

Strange to me some of the criticism the ref got, I think he got the key decisions right, the 2nd penalty the guys behind me seemed livid the defender wasn't sent off like Malone but unlike the first one, I felt the 2nd penalty the defender did make a genuine attempt to win the ball which under the ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (h) sponsored by Yakubu

As I said on the BFTG thread I thought the ref had a good game in difficult circumstances caused by Derby's indiscipline and got all the main decisions right. Why do some on here say the referees are crap every week even when they have a good game? We have certainly had much worse this season. And G...

Re: BFTG - Derby

A bit of a strange match in that on the balance of play Derby definitely did not deserve to lose 3-0. However, as they lost their heads they deserved all they got and I will certainly take 3-0. I actually thought the referee had a good game and got all the decisions right in what must have been a di...

Re: 2019 Summer Recruitment

Being OCD I keep a record (as much as is possible) of the buys and sells of RFC. Over the last 10 years the significant sales of Academy players have included: Sig 7M Antonio 1M Long 6M McCarthy 3M Hector 4M Tishbola 5M Stacey 1.2M Samuel 0.5M Cooper 1M Nova 1M Kelly/Hamer/Henry etc - probably anoth...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Finished 2-4. I am surprised how poor that performance was. Palace were better in all departments and it looked as though there was a gulf in class in their favour. Very surprising and disappointing considering their relatively lowly position in the Under 18 league system. There does seem to be some...

Re: January Transfer Window

Think Rinos been pretty crap this year. Although I do like the idea of a diamond. You have clearly been watching different matches to me. Largely Rino has been undertaking the defensive midfield role on his own - sometimes against 2 - or even 3 opposition players - to allow Swift and Ejaria to get ...

Re: Reading FC team of the decade

Think the most difficult to pick is left back with three excellent contenders in Bertrand, Obita and Harte but will go with Obita who at his best pre injury was outstanding for us. This 11 with all at their peak would have been one heck of a team. Federici Obita Hector Moore Gunter Ejaria Sigurdsso...

Re: BFTT Leeds

Personally i enjoyed the game last night. It was tense and quite exciting and at around the 80 minute mark I was thinking that it was going to be one of the most entertaining 0-0 games I have seen, but sadly that was not meant to be. Equally if Morrison had not skied that chance we could have won 1-...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Leeds United (h) sponsored by nothing to lose

Gunter to start tonight according to Courtney. Be interesting to see what happens on Saturday if he plays well tonight Unless he has an absolutely outstanding game, I would expect Yiadom to slot back in. But if he does play well tonight, it will certainly be encouraging should Yiadom get another su...

Re: BFTG - Luton

Whenever we win well people say we were playing a very poor side. There is no doubt that Luton are limited but I think we would have beaten almost any Championship team playing like that today and so to me it is about how well we played and not how poor Luton were. The question is can we play that w...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Preston North End (h) sponsored by a new hope

Tough run of games to start with for Bowen. Expecting nil points tomorrow and so anything better than that will be a bonus. In fact 3 points from Bowen's first 3 games would be quite good IMO. Sadly I fear 0 points from the next 3 is more likely and number 13 calling for his head. Genuinely hope I a...

Re: Bowen interview

Yes indeed a very positive interview. He sounds like a grounded and sensible chap who said all the right things - well worth a read for anyone who has not seen it. I can only think that the current owners were sucked in by Gourlay's CV and it is a shame his era turned out to be a disaster but they ...
