Re: MATCHWATCH : Plymouth Argyle (a) sponsored by Glen Little

Started in in the West Country with the wife and kids... plymouth first, followed by Charlton at the MadHouse Hotel Then going up to the Middlesborough game. Back to the MadHouse Hotel for the Blackburn game Then to Wales for the Swansea game Finally back to the Madhouse hotel for the Fulham game F...

Re: BFTG WBA

Before the game, I’d have taken a point. At half time I would have been disappointed with anything but three points. At full time I was happy with a point. I know we scored first and it might feel like two points dropped, but I had my heart in my throat more times when they were threatening than vic...

Re: Will we get found out again?

yeah Nova is surely on his way JS wasn't completely right thankfully as he did play for us vs Sheff Wed But he is probably well down the list, which is likely Puscas > Joao > Meite > Boye > Loader > Baldock > Nova at the moment As a Yank, I wanted to see Nova break into the 1st team. But, as a Roya...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

Gomes seems to be strong with man management and team morale and isn't afraid to make the hard decisions. Imagine if each one of these signings is as impactful as the 5 in January were.

Re: Rumour - Puscas

Not sure it deserves its own thread, JL reporting Wolves have made several bids for Loader in the past few days. Could be the major reason we're amping-up on the striker category.

Re: Where will we finish?

Steady now, let's not get ahead of ourselves. I'll still be happy if we go into the last 5 games not seriously looking over our shoulders and sweating on other results. Let's try getting to 50 points first. I know, I know. I did bold and underline “if”. :) But if we’re really spending close to 10M ...

Re: Where will we finish?

Bookies have us for the drop. Looking at the squad through a black/white lens. Sure. We barely avoided relegation with 5 loan signing significantly improving the squad only one of which returned. We have a keeper who would be better-served to get minutes in League 1, and no "established" ...

Re: Rumour - Danny Loader

If 15 million is the price being thrown around. Though I like the kid we can keep rinhomota, buy Oliveira, and have a try at signing Martinez and Baker. (Or 2 players similar and a cb) At the end of the day loader single handedly will not push us up the table but using the money on 3 signings like ...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

Miazga has to aim for higher-level football. I can see Ejaria getting loaned-out again but maybe another PL club (perhaps one of the newly-promoted) will make an offer. What I cannot get over is that Gomes et al went 5-for-5 with this crew of loanees and they pretty-much slotted in from the get go. ...

Re: Swift to Leeds

Thanks for all the additional information. So do clubs really benefit form deep-pocketed owners anymore or are there ways around FFP such as owners paying fee directly as “gifts”?

Re: Swift to Leeds

You know that people think you talk a load of shite. Well I actually felt sorry for you. I have now realised that they were right. That's nice, thanks. £7m? oxf*rd driving, I'll carry him there. I saw that! Kind of sorts out our FFP issues for next season at a guess. Ok, so is RFC's problem ...

This game reminds me of that away trip to MU where it was just a battering but we held-out. Norwich is just heads and shoulders above everyone.

Re: The Local Journo Thread

TTE pods are always better when there’s three rather than 2 hosts imo. Would like Wimb on more regularly as well as Westie and Handbags. Perhaps a few guests / occasional presenters as well. I agree, 3 adds a better dynamic. Handbags has supernatural talents when it comes to his memory of matches. ...

Re: The Local Journo Thread

The industry has changed Genome, think that is the problem Realistically, not sure there is that much left in the old style journo following the team round. I'm guessing it might end up where you have accredited people from blog sites like Tilehurst End ending up doing a little bit of press confere...

Re: Economics

Release two or three of the higher earners. These players may have a clause whereby they don’t drop wages if we go down or can go for a reduced fee. Bring in a number of loan signings which may keep us up but either way, these players return to their clubs in the summer and the club aren’t burdened...

Re: New Centre Half

I like this signing. Seen him several times playing for USMNT and he can play. Has done well against formidable national team opponents. How well has he done exactly? Was in a USMNT group that were embarrassed in the last World Cup qualification campaign. They also only have to play against Mexico,...
