Re: The Great Escape

Yeh, at around Christmas last time we really looked like we'd be fine. Our slide was phenomenal; 8 straight defeats in January/February and then another run of 5 matches without a goal in April/May. This time were at our lowest ebb pre Christmas.

Re: Those Fake Hoops...

All of QPR's signings will surely know this season that, should the club go down, they will get a move away. They won't have the fight we have, and I don't think their extra quality will compensate. I despise this club so much; nasty managers, scumbag players, shitty stadium, bastard arrogant fans w...

Re: Players who have only scored one more league goal than A

Also I don't like the "he takes penalties" argument, they still need to be put away. No true Reading fan who has supported us through the majority of the 00s would ever use that article. We've had Cureton, Kitson and now Alf as reliable takers; nobody else. Harte has a reputation, but loo...

Re: Back from the miracle

Unofficial assist to Alf for Kebe's goal; drawing the defender and dummying it. Great, intelligent play.

LOL @ Steve Clarke complaining at the penalty decision in his interview. It was the definition of stonewall.

Re: Back from the miracle

Feds is escaping a lot of criticism on here. Had we lost, I'm sure we'd all be talking about how he should have saved the second goal.

If we service the strikers....

We will get goals. End of. 2 very good finishers; Pog's hold up play is excellent, Alf can link up well. Service is key. I hope Kelly is better than Gunter from crossing positions, for starters.

I'd like to see McCleary start ahead of McAnuff. Although he is not overly consistent.

Re: The Great Escape

3 points off safety; teams around us still to come to Mad Stad. Too right we can do it.

And today had echoes of our run to promotion last season; under pressure and 2nd best for much of the match, but won anyway. (STG can call it lucky I guess)

Gordons Cumming I personally think he's using Reading as a stepping stone.

Well lets hope so because at least then he'll have to be good.

Tbh I know very little about this player. One thing I do know for sure, is that CB/CDM is no longer a priority position. CAM please; Sunzu lower priority.

Re: Reading FC poised to make major signing

I've heard rumours of Baird; would be an excellent signing. Experience, recent good form with Fulham. Can shore up RB, or CM is Carrico and Akman don't step up. Probably not break the bank wages; should we go down he won't leave and will be a quality player down there.

Do it Brian!

Re: SIGNED - Hope Akpan

The thing is, McD rightly pointed out that players with proven Premier League pedigree would not want to come here, because of our league position. I don't doubt for a moment we've been trying and enquiring, but if you're good enough for this division, why come to Reading at the moment? This is why ...

I've always taken delight at watching Bentley's career fail ever since his "I'm too good for England U21s" episode. Knob. Not our type of character.

But good on the ball, skillful, creative. Could tolerate having him on loan; no way to permanent signing. I know it's bollocks anyway.

Re: Alex Pearce

We can't let Pearce go; he has always been destined to be a Reading FC legend. Loves the club, academy product. And actually looks good enough to play at this level. Whatever wages Guthrie is on, surely Pearce is worth the same? I imagine he'll look at it that way. Can't bear the thought of us letti...

Is Pog starting to produce the goods for us?

2 goals in 2 games suggests yes, obviously. But more than this, he was creating chances for himself today. Bullying defenders, working hard and what few bright moments we had nearly all came through his work. He's working hard for the team, holding the ball up well when he gets it to feet and looks ...
