Re: Next Reading Manager

PATRIQT
elrey Totally thought this would be a new thread about who replaces Ince.

It will be in 2 months.

Well, the early bird gets laid first, or something like that.

Re: How bad would relegation be?

If Zingarevich was still in charge would we be in the same boat as Chelsea? At least the London club stand a chance of survival with media pressure etc. which would not be coming our way and no one, except us, would care if we went to the wall. So, cheer up, things could be worse than they are now....

Re: How bad would relegation be?

Well, the Thai who wanted to buy us wasn't allowed so he got his mates to do it for him. He's involved in corruption charges. They started to put the financials right but were mostly after land to develop. Then they sold to a Chinese billionaire who has ripped up all their financial work and accide...

Re: How bad would relegation be?

So Dai Yongee is complete innocent in all of this then? Naive thinking at its best Life is never so easy. I live in China, I know what Chinese bosses are like. I've spoken about it before on here. However the question here is, who would have had Reading doing better? Maybe someone would. He choices...

Re: How bad would relegation be?

Essentially, we've been run into the ground to the point we can no longer compete with the vast majority of teams at this level. A string of mostly awful managers, a total lack of any financial acumen and a transfer policy that amounts to signing whatever recognisable name happens to be available, ...

Re: Dodgy agents, dodgy deals, the sorry tale continues

Just came across this article which makes for depressing reading if even parts of it are true https://footballtyper.com/2022/02/19/it-doesnt-make-for-good-reading/ This came out a while ago that Reading had been used by a dodgy Russian for money laundering purposes. We're still suffering the impact...

Re: Paul Ince Managerial Fact File

Football is a weird place. Some managers can have an impact for a short time. Really we need to look at his record in the first games after taking over. At Blackpool he had a loss, three draws in the first four. Then only two loses for the rest of the season. The next season he had 5 wins in the fir...

Re: Paul Ince appointed interim manager

Hopefully we have a proper manager announced in the next couple of weeks. Get warnock on the phone immediately I really want this to happen. We’ll be entertaining seeing 75% ecstatic and 25% apoplectic. No middle ground with Colin. That would be waiting for the first match and for Warnock to blame ...

Three out of his four clubs he has a worse win rate than Paunovic at Reading. And the other club was League One.

Re: Dai Yongee and Dayong Pang don't care

Agreed it is not the owners that are necessarily the problem it is the structure that has ben put in place below them. Football teams need football minded people to oversee them. I think fans should push for a German style system where fans get a 50% say in what goes on at clubs. Really clubs shoul...

Re: Dai Yongee and Dayong Pang don't care

Be very careful what you wish for in terms of slating the owners. Money is off the scale that has been pumped in. The angst towards them should be around visibility and the appointment of poor people around them. Simple fix if he listened. Get the likes of Coppell and Mcdermott in and job done, fan...

Re: Dai Yongee and Dayong Pang don't care

Clearly neither give a shit about us. Discuss To be honest it's difficult to see what could have been done without putting the club in jeopardy. I think changing the manager as soon as they got in was a bad idea. It might not have worked out either way. The problem with this club was when a Russia ...

Re: Do fans have to take action ASAP?

[ To them it’s all about owning prime real estate, trading million pounds worth of human athletes and making a profit. Ticket sales are almost nothing in real terms. Unfortunately this is a very Chinese way of doing management. The people don't matter. The boss is the "emperor" with total...

Re: Pauno in

(written after the Fulham game) As anti-Pauno as I've been since the capitulation last season I promised myself if with the 'ridiculous' and inexplicable decision to drop Puscas we manage to win I'd make more of a dick of myself and start a thread in support of Pauno just to balance the other one. ...

I'd have to say its a comfortable start, if Reading are in trouble by end of September then really cant see how theyll get out of it. April doesnt look very friendly though. https://www.readingfc.co.uk/contentassets/f9817b8d366947c48a5626146a05876d/fixtures-1080x1080.jpg 1990/1991 season, first hom...

Re: Bowen v. Paunović

There are plenty of good reasons for taking out the first 8 games. Firstly because some managers manage to have a boost because nobody knows what they're facing. After a few games they figure out the tactics and therefore it's easier to plan what you're facing. Secondly because players might be out ...

Bowen v. Paunović

Okay, season is basically over, Reading have cemented their place just below the play offs. Better than last season's 14th place. But the question here is, should Bowen have been fired? Have Reading done better under Paunović than Bowen? Bowen had 35 league games, won 13 of those, drew 9 for 48 poin...
