Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Comments before the game - help to set the scene... So what are we singing tonight? Going Down? Going Bust? You can stick your ****ing tennis balls / biscuits up your wotsit? What else? To all those saying Reading doesn't matter much - it does to those of us who grew up in South Oxfordshire and had ...

Re: European Leagues Thread 2012/2013

Disgraceful scenes in Turkey - kind of grateful it has happened over there and not here as its been brewing. This incident will now hopefully make everyone think twice around referee safety, what is important and start at grassroots level. There was already a campaign starting with abuse of referee'...

Re: Refereeing

There was a match being played on the pitch next to Jnr II's before they kicked off last week and a player got sin binned. We were all a bit bemused by it as we didn't realise it was a thing. Guess it might be getting piloted at some grass roots levels. its been in our grassroots league for a coupl...

Re: Weekend Football

Of the 3 promoted sides, I think Luton have the best chance. Before the season, I said Burnley but I guess if you're a diet Man City that doesn't work against technically superior teams. Luton by contrast have physicality, workrate and have the wide quality to put consistently good balls into the a...

Re: THE BETTING THREAD

Pepe the Horseman Had a bit of luck with Sky Bet acca freeze last night. Put Luton in (16/1) with 4 heavy favs, then froze it as soon as Luton went ahead. £143 back off a £5 free bet.

Gonna do the same tonight with Sheff Utd.

well done - decent result that. Its a great feature on sky bet.

Re: The Non - League thread

Scheduled match for me tonight at Winslow postponed so have gone to Basingstoke v Hungerford. 1st match i have seen at this ground. 2-2 F-T decent enough game in front of 538. Hungerford 1up and then 2-1 down. Home fans gave plenty of support but can’t say i heard anything that i wouldn’t hear at o...

We are very good with letting some obvious talent either go, let contracts be run down, or turn excellent quality players into absolute rubbish.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Eastleigh (a)

You have to start by giving Eastleigh credit. They're a well organised team with a decent striker - we can't complain about the result. It's another embarrassment that will worsen our confidence and the mood in the dressing room. I assume that Selles is a dead man walking now and it's just a case o...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

I can't see how much worse it could be a than in the bottom 2 of League 1 and losing to an injury time goal from a non league side on ITV1 on a Sunday afternoon... Don't get me wrong, I want better times, but given MB is pretty much in charge of all things football, I don't get how he gets absolved...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Thank God Bowen is here. Imagine where we'd be with the Kia recruitment model and lack of leadership. Milton Road end at the Dell https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BQIQ9fkCYAAF_fF.jpg Have to LOL at that elevated terrace - would could possibly go wrong there? Brilliant ground that. Had some memorable refereeing experiences here. They did a decent job in making that stand all seated back in the day, but i...

Re: Refereeing

If anything i think its getting worse from own experience. With so many junior leagues now setup, tagged with "academy" brandng, coaches think they are the next Klopp, and a win at all stakes mentality is forming, which is passing through kids and parents. It's definitely getting worse. W...

Re: Champions League, Europa League & Europa Conference League 23/24

My solution to the handball rule is as follows.

Any handball in the penalty box by a defending player when trajectory of ball is goal bound = penalty

Any other deliberate handball deemed by referee = penalty

Deflections off party parts to hand like last night = no penalty.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Carlisle United (h)

Dreadful first 20 minutes and then the game settled down somewhat. Delighted for Azeez, been saying for quite some time there is a player in there, and he has been having a decent season, just an end product, but assists and now a goal i am hoping he can push on. Been critical of Wing in recent week...

Re: Refereeing

An under 12's game was abandoned at HT yesterday after the level of abuse that had been given to the 15 year old referee by one of the managers, former Wolves midfielder Karl Henry Sounds very familiar, has he got previous form for this or was there another ex-player a few years back that did the s...

Re: Refereeing

The levels of abuse match officials get is at an all time high. Starts from the top and filters down. Arteta, De Zerbi etc.. all need to take a long hard look at their behaviour its quite a simple fix at grassroots level - but for whatever reason leagues wont tackle it although over the weekend i h...
