BTFG - Cardiff Away Cup

First trip to new stadium. Atmosphere of a pre-season friendly, but with less fans. Pie and Ale scored well. 1st half. Bad. Lucky only to be 1 down. Nothing going through midfield. Swift playing higher up and was flat-footed and having a mare. Meant few options for defenders with ball and poor servi...

NewCorkSeth I know I'm going to get slaughtered for this but Al-Habsi. He was mostly shite in his first season.

Correct - we knew him as Al-Flapsi

Dave the rave
Had some chips from the loaded fries stall outside. They are top notch chips.

This. the one thing worth rating... but why anyone would put cheese and marmite on them is beyond me.

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

Just seen that Club 1871 is closed for Cardiff with the intention that we go back to Y25/Y26 But it's not unreserved seating - so what's the score? Do we have to battle the stewards to stand again? While not behind the goal, at goal kicks you still get to shout: YOUR SHEEP, BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!...

Re: BFTG - Forest

Tbf, missing marginal calls in crowded penalty areas happen. It was the RAF's inconsistency with yellow cards, for fouls he actually saw, which was more baffling. I am more baffled as to why the armed forces are now involved in footballing matters? The RAF are involved as the sides of the pitch are...

Re: When are Millwall away tickets on sale?

Bl**dy engineering works means a 35/40 minute journey from SW London is now 2 hours sat on buses. Looks like no trains out of London Bridge too.

Re: BFTG Fulham

Back 4 deserve special credit. 10's all round from me. For all bar first 15 minutes of 2nd half, they faced a full-on onslaught. They stayed tight and cut out the space around 18 yard box, against a team that ripped us one a couple of months ago. Full backs had the hardest job, when to stay tight, wh...

Re: BFTG Fulham

Joao 5 - oxf*rd me. Watching on TV you only see it when the ball comes to his area of the pitch. The man was epic, ran, moved, battled, occupied and ran their back 2 ragged. You really should go to a game before marking players.

Special mention for Pele - MOTM and best game in the hoops.

Re: BFTG - Preston (a)

Just listening to Bowen’s interview He’s genuinely the first manager for a while I enjoy listening to. Rather than just bland cliches he does give a bit of insight into what the plans were etc The stuff about just keeping positions and ‘enjoying defending’ are quite interesting imo Clarke and Cleme...

Re: FA Cup away day memories

My dad took me to Aldershot v Reading in Jan 67 - my first away game. Lost 0-1 and there was a then record crowd of 16,500 squeezed in to the Rec. Sat on the touchline for a while and then my dad stuck me on top of a tea kiosk for a clear view. How the fu ck they got 19,138 in there three years lat...
