Loan with a view to a permanent switch next summer apparently close.

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

Zip Good to see sales in the South Stand are going well. Club 1871 is now here to stay.
Does anyone know what overall ST sales are looking like?

No answer when asked recently, however they did comment that they're looking forward to selling out every home game.

Re: Teletext

Good old Teletext. I used to get in from school and then work, first thing I'd do is grab some biscuits and sit down and check the football news and rumour headlines hoping for something for RFC.

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

Just a gentle wind up of our resident ejits going on about C1871ers thinking they're superior and getting better treatment. Interested to see if I get one of those new branded ones as I renewed an existing South ST. I think flag donations are a bit weird but each to their own. Loving the popularity...

Re: Rumour: Joe Piggott

Daily Mail still claiming we are the front runners for his signature, but they've added nothing more to the story. It's a bit of an odd one really. If this lad does come in, then I'd assume Bodvarsson is surplus to requirements. Or we are readying ourselves to lose a couple of forwards to bring some...

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

RG30 Interesting u-turn by the club. I’d heard previously they wouldn’t go down the gambling route

Howe wasn't interested on this occasion either, but then he saw the deal on offer.

2 year deal, initially.

He was fishing. These are the South Stand ST cards:

I don’t believe there’s a cap in Club1871, at least they didn’t believe so when ST’s went on sale this summer.

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

The special season tickets for C1871 look nice. The ones with "better fans" on? Yep, great design. :D Still the same nonsense from SFR then. How you feeling about season tickets in the South Stand taking up 3/4’s of the allocation with plenty of time to go before sales end? Also donations...

Re: Explain like I'm five: our FFP crisis

New record shirt sponsor deal was set to be announced for Friday, but as it’s broken tonight it may be rushed to tomorrow (Thursday). By all accounts it’s a big deal, not just a little better than the previous, but it’s smashed it out of the ball park! I only heard about this on Sunday when asking a...

Re: STs for season 2019/2020

Hey. I am a spurs fan (dont shoot me) but im gonna get a Reading season ticket next season with my pals who support Reading since i can barely get to spurs games nowdays. Is the 1871 club the best place to stand for atmosphere? it seemed bery good the times ive been this season Just quoting this as...

Re: New Training Ground

Latest update from the EP site. https://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/gallery-work-speeds-up-reading-16451127 I love how we've kept these old buildings and will use them, and we also have a lake on site. That would be lovely for an office to overlook. It's made me wonder, has an...

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

Hendo Yep, looks nice, the prominence of red is interesting. Perhaps a clue to the away kit colour?

That's my gut feeling too, an all red away kit, or a red with dark blue somewhere. Hope its all red.

Re: Barrow on the way ?

Three transfer windows running he’s asked to leave. His fee plus wages off the books should all but be enough to secure Nelson Oliveira on a free (signing fee, agent fee, wages).

Re: Rumour: Joe Piggott

That's a very good return for a striker in a struggling side. As for, "more strikers?" We need to reduce the wage bill, and the likes of Bodvarsson and Baldock might well be two that have to go, or, even though it'll hurt, we may have to lose a Meite... Needs must at the moment, so whoeve...

Adequate is a fair summary. Ie not great, but wouldn’t be too horrified if he started the season Hmm. I’m not so sure. Would rather see Southwood ahead of him. So would I, with CBC pushing Walker for splinters. If Southwood doesn’t break in this season he’ll almost certainly want our next summer. H...

Re: Oliveira traing with Reading

Ward's gone (small fry but probably still a good £4-5000 a week (£240,000 a year) off the books). McNulty will go, we're just haggling for the best deal possible, and I'd expect we'll want it up front as it wont be a huge feel. I can see £600,000 doing it. I don't see us recouping our £1m fee for hi...

Re: Oliveira traing with Reading

Training with us and not his parent club, and then they release him from his contract. This looks very good for us, as he seems to want to stay and we clearly want him to stay. Some saying his £30k a week wages are a problem; well yes they would be, but his wages have only just increased due to prom...
