Re: Zero the Hero

Glen Little was atrocious during his loan spell from Burnley. It was a bit of toss-up as to who was worse out of him and Luke Chadwick. Think we probably made the right choice eventually. Not sure many people would grant him hero status, but Mikele Leigertwood's first game was absolutely woeful. St...

Re: First RFC player to 5 yellows in a season ...

Saturday's matchday programme shows Norwood with 5 (including Derby) and on the OS the Derby match report shows it too. Very strange. I know, pretty odd. My guess is that the FL website is the most accurate as it is presumably compiled from the actual referees' reports. Plus, as the OS seems to now...

Re: First RFC player to 5 yellows in a season ...

Worst case scenario, he was supposed to be suspended for the Everton game and we played him, no points to deduct so would only result in a fine. That said I very much doubt the Reading club officials would make such a basic error. Is it up to them? Don't the FA have to say to the club that a player...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

There are narrow margins in football matches though - they didn't have a couple of chances and if they'd gone in we'd probably be talking a completely different game. I'm thinking in particular of the header that was misplaced and the shot from distance that just missed the post - don't think Al H ...

Re: Charlton Fan in Peace

Perhaps being overly positive but we look like a side that will score a big number against a team sooner or later (6 goals or more). If we score early against a side like Charlton it could be a tough night for them. I'm going for a Right Royal Rumpus in Rotherham as Reading hit the Millers for six....

Re: Nick Blackman

Mick Gooding on BBCRB after the game was discussing this. He said that Blackman should sit tight until the end of the season and then see what offers are available. The only problem with that, from his perspective, is that if his purple patch comes to an end it may be that nobody would want him at t...

Re: Middlesbrough BFTG

I have not seen it referred to yet but I feel I must mention Blackman's amazing bit of skill in the first half which was a semi-Cruyff type turn which left the full back on his backside and he was clear. It set up the chance from Sa which was headed off the line.

Re: New Football League highlights Show

+1 to player. I've had it since 09/10 but it's drastically improved recently. At one stage a couple of seasons ago they were even putting the full match up after woods, either way though the highlights are longer, there are the full interviews with people from the club whenever relevant and you of ...

Re: The "We Are Going Up" Thread

Of the 14 games left this year only 4 are against teams currently in the top 10 - Brighton, Cardiff, Hull and Wolves.
At the moment it feels like they are all beatable.

Re: Nick Blackman

Love the confident way he tucks away penalties, that`s 3 he`s taken and they have all been the same, just rolling it in after sending the keeper the wrong way. they wil be doing their homework on him now. he needs to vary it a bit. I have always felt that taking a penalty that way is a mark of a pl...

Nameless Even without the Defoe goal we still were 1 short of getting a draw !
But obviously who can tell, crazy game !!

Ah, but it was the goal that gave them the lead at 5-4. If they had not scored then I think we would have held on.

Re: The "We Are Going Up" Thread

Almost. Strangely enough the only game where we have not had more shots than the opposition was Ipswich where it was 10 to 12. Crucially 6 of our 10 were on target. Overall in our 9 games we have outperformed the opposition in shots by 2 to 1 (138 to 67) and in shots on target it is even better (46...
