Re: Rumour- Steven Taylor/Adrian marriappa

If we only signed players who already have an attachment to the club we'd be fishing in a very small pool.
Parky had no previous attachment, Trevor Senior likewise, same for Brynjar, Gilksey, Marcus, Mick Gooding, Mark White, Kerry Dixon.......

Re: Paolo Hurtado

With Stacey and Fosu back with some games under their belt I would want to see them playing ahead of Hurtado.
We're probably a left winger short in the squad.

Re: Brian, New Director of football.

Fair point. But because one person developed into a role over a period of time it doesn't make it logical to take someone else with no obvious experience or interest in a job and push them into it just to get them out of the way.... If we need a DofF it would surely be more logical to find someone w...

Re: Brian, New Director of football.

It's not a rumour, just an idea. Brian is the perfect Direcor of Football, much better with the press than Hammond. Steven Reid's got to have a chance for manager, very popular with the players, what's to lose? Also did you see Madjeski's turned up nose with Sally Taylor on BBC news tonight, pricel...

Re: The Egg chasers relegation

That's been talked about for a while. Could kill them as a club, especially if they don't get out of the Championship next season. As long as they share with anyone they are going to struggle. Equally staying in Reading can't be economically viable. Smaller grounds nearer London are going to be hard...

Re: Brian, New Director of football.

First someone would need to define a job, you can't just give Brian a new job title. Clearly people have different jobs in mind on here. He wouldn't do the DofF role that Hammond did. He's got no experience negotiating contracts and doing the financial deals. He could do the scouting stuff, but then...

Re: Contracts 16/17

surprised with Sweeney thought he was well thought of Would have been very surprised if he had been offered a new deal. He's a whole hearted player, never fault him for effort but he's never been talked of in terms of making the first team and I think he'll find his level lower down the leagues. Di...

Re: The Egg chasers relegation

Depends. They should be red hot favourites. But Bristol have been for a few seasons and despite having comfortably the best side seem to bottle it. If Bristol win the playoffs this year then Irish should bounce straight back. There is a big gap between the Championship and the Prem, plus the odds ar...

Isn't he rich enough not to need to form a consortium ? There are many reasons to want to form a consortium. Loneliness ? Insecurity ? Your mother didn't breast feed you ? Lack of musical talent meaning you can't form a band ? Following the current trend - because everyone who is anyone is 'in a co...

Re: Safe Standing Petition

That set up looks less than ideal. Surely it needs a barrier on a single wider step. Your picture suggests anyone standing would have to balance on the edge of a second step. Is that trying to show how you would fit these barriers into existing stands with seats removed ? If so it seems to me the ex...

Re: Worried Supporters.

We have no idea where we will be next season. Neither do most of the teams in the division. Just look at how wildly inaccurate most preseason forecasts are ! Don't spoil your summer worrying though. It's out of our hands. But a positive note is that we could have a very young, very exciting forward ...

Re: £3million for Ola John

Blackman's an awful benchmark. He was English which inflates the price, had just been on a short but excellent run of form and was not good value for money. No it's not; it's an example of a club aiming high and buying someone they believed that would get them there and stating the fee paid. His pe...

I thought we were living in a deflationary environment. A freeze in ticket prices is a real terms increase. It means you don't qualify for an OAP ticket for another season.
There has always been a cut off date for the age related categories, it is not the date you buy the ticket that is relevant.

TheBaldOne Get rid of Norwood next season. Go back to basics, 442 Tshibola and Quinn in the middle, Fosu and someone else on the wings.

Based on seeing Fosu play exactly how much ?
