Re: Steve Death - new book

Whilst trawling through my books to find 'flatgate', I found something else I had forgotten about. Apparently Steve Death remembered nothing at all of the game in which his record clean sheet run came to an end with a Stewart Henderson own goal. Apparently he was concussed in a collision immediatel...

Re: Steve Death - new book

I thought Roger Titford was the only person allowed to write RFC books ? I guess its about Steve though so ok. Some Oasis guy wrote the Robin Friday book. Wasn’t the Friday book mostly a cut and paste from the local papers ? I still think the definitive book on Robin is yet to be written. Needs to ...

Re: Steve Death - new book

Anyone remember the game at Gillingham to which Steve refused to travel with the team, was talked around by the EP's David Dibben (he of the 70s glasses, 70s haircut) and got a lift in David's car to the game? I've forgotten what it was that he was upset about, but from what has been said about him...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Rotherham United (h)

Totally agree, I'm thinking along the lines that some players who have good technique and ability might not fancy taking a penalty, whereas a centre-half who doesn't score loads might back himself instead. Obviously some players are bad at pens regardless, and better players more often than not sti...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Rotherham United (h)

In the highlights the AR on the West Stand side can clearly be seen to be saying 'Number eight, number eight' as he holds his flag out. However, I'm confused. Did Mbengue not get his head on the ball and didn't he deliberately attempt to head the cross clear? If so, doesn't that negate the offside?...

Re: Reading FC Womens World

The misery continues. Our daughter played for some poor teams on occasions but none had to endure runs quite as appalling as those that the Reading Women's team are on. Heartbreaking too for all those, like our daughter, who were fortunate enough to experience playing during some of the good times u...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Rotherham United (h)

It was odd coming away from the game feeling that we'd nicked the win when before the pen I was thinking this was 2 points dropped. We deserved the win even if the pen was soft. I actually thought both were soft and the one that Wing didn't get was more deserved. A poor ref that seemed to fall for ...

Alan Hester is an international author and trainer in leadership, management and personal development.

So I wonder what prompted him to write this book?

Re: MATCHWATCH : Shrewsbury Town (h)

Saw it twice on replay from different angles, a dive in my opinion, but appreciate it’s all about opinions. One thing I think we all agree on was this it was a dreadful performance It's never a dive at any angle. Blackman grabs his foot. This. you could argue that WiFi overran the ball but it was a...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Shrewsbury Town (h)

Tbf on the reading pen she looked straight at the Lino and checked with him before giving the decision. It was his call to make He made very few calls/decisions on the night and quite a few of those he did make were wrong! Certainly didn't deserve to be called an 'Assistant Referee'. Ref did really...

Re: Hunt v Selles - what's changed?

If you were to compare the start of Selles's tenure with Hunt's you'd see Noel has made a much better start. We're harder to beat away from home. We looked like we had the start of a really good passing side against Bolton. Shrewsbury was pretty awful, but then again we had some shocking performanc...

Whilst it would have been lovely to have pulled off an away smash and grab of three points, I'm more than happy with picking up one point today, I half expected a tonking prior to the game.

If we haven't achieved it already, we must be nailed on to set the record for the longest period of time a football league club has been up for sale!

Re: MATCHWATCH : Huddersfield Town (a)

Royal_jimmy Played all the top half away now. Last 7-8 away matches are against mid to lower table teams

That's worrying to me as we have a long history over many years of fairly frequently failing to perform to our full potential against teams down the bottom half of the table.

Re: Confimred Bindon to Nottingham Forest

Deserves his chance at a club in the premier league, his development with us has been outstanding. We've managed a decent deal out of this I think. We were unlikely to get a new contract out of him given his talent and performances plus gets some money in. Heard the fee was nearly £1m, great busine...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bolton Wanderers (h)

Attendance given as 11508 That's oxf*rd appalling I can't blame them tbh. Which one is it? FWIW I was particularly impressed by the commitment of our loyal fans in C1871, maybe their mums heard they were going to do a pitch invasion and wouldn't let them out? Anyway, they missed a solid, if not spe...

Confrimed on OS now. Whilst the club was not actively seeking to sell Sam, the significant offer payable by Wrexham will help support the essential short-term finances required to run the club. Parky saves the club again :D Once a Royal, always a Royal. Parky helps Dai to continue to avoid spending...

windermereROYAL The club are a mess, I couldn`t give a shit about any records.

It would at least be something to remember us by though. Record holders that no longer exist thanks to a dodgy owner and useless (or as they claim, powerless) footballing authorities.
