Re: less Football in Reading

I suppose the debate should be what is the worth of the pitches?? i would think £3/4 per player for a game would be about right, so about £80 a match, with changing facilities. however I have no idea what the cost is, am sure some here know?? A long time since I was invloved in local football but n...

Re: Play-Off Tickets

Not saying at STH has more right, more that it's always been a perk of buying one that you get first dibs on games like a Wembley final, should we make it. How things change. When we went to the Millenium Stadium to play Walsall I got priority on 6 tickets per ST. As I had 4 STs at the time I was a...

Re: Where to watch the Royals in Vegas?

You will really struggle to find anywhereon the strip showing "soccer". The Crown and Anchor is defo the most likely venue to be showing it. Careful with kick off times, when I went there last were a bunch of very pissed lads who had mistimed by 6 hours!

Re: Jimmy Kebe is a good player, sign in

rg6royal Had one great run with teh ball today in the second half. Must have taken on about 3 players! just lacks the final ball tbh.

Nothing wrong with the final ball on this occasion. What was wrong was the lack of other players busting a gut to get into the box.

Re: Oh when the Saints, go...

As I understand it, After the March deadline, if a team goes in to administration the points are not deducted automatically but at the end of the season. If the club has been relegated then the 10 pt deduction carries over so they start on -10 the next year. However, if they have not gone down, the...

Re: Will You Be Renewing Your Season Ticket Before 3rd Of April?

Decision made: on account of the negative attitude around the Mad Stad these days, we are not renewing. We're going to attend as many home matches as feasible, but the focus will be on the more rewarding atmosphere to be found away from home. I need to start enjoying myself at the game again, and t...

Re: Season Ticket Prices for next season

I suspect that unless we pull something extraordinary out of the bag in our remaining games, sales of STs will decrease hugely for next season. I've got enough points to secure me tickets home and away if I want them, and should we not go up, which is almost inevitable at the moment, I doubt I'll h...

Re: What is the biggest attendance you were a part of?

Sporting - plenty of internationals and 3 cup finals at old Wembley (being in the minority in a 100,000 crowd at England Scotland.

Non sporting - festival at Blackbush (Dylan Clapton) c1976 where the estimated attendance was 250,000

Re: Recent Performances

I've never been more indifferent to results than I have been this season. After decades of having my mood for the entire week dictated by Reading's results, this season, for the first time since I was about ten, i'm just not that bothered, I barely even shout at matches. I have wondered why this is...

Re: Reading FC villains

I agree with whoever said Robert Maxwell. We've had bad players, we've had managers, staff and players betray us and throw loyalty back in our face. However only 1 man has tried to destroy us altogether, and even though he was eventually never at the club he has to be the ultimate royals villain. S...

Re: Is there a generation gap among fans?

Some things don't change. I am currently having a battle royal with an adjacent "fan" who slags Kebe off from kick off and it seems not that long ago that I was almost coming to blows with a berk on the Southbank who could not find it in him to say a good word about Jimmy Quinn.. Yours, an...

Re: Lucky to be a Reading supporter

69/70 was a wonderful season that still stays fresh in the memory and Tommy Jenkins became my first footballing idol in the hoops. Shame we did not keep hold of him. Jack Mansell got the team to play some wonderful push-and-run football and there were some great performances: Tranmere 5-1, Barnsley...

I saw Roy not so long ago and played for Kevin when he was running the Allied Counties side at Wokingham for a year before he left. Funnily enough it was Garry Smart who put a word in at Wokkers for me as he was my PE teacher at school at the time. He got me a "trial" and I ended up playi...

Re: Transfer Window Ins and Outs

On the question of Birmingham, Bouazza and Sinclair are only loan signings and they will get good money for Jerome to help fund the purchase of Boyd. The people who run Birmingham strike me as shrewd and it looks as though they are investing the SKY TV money knowing that if the fail this year there...

First game at Madstad (brother's wedding - still not forgiven)

Brizzle Rovers home 6 goal drubbing (thank God) home in bed with pleurisy

Plenty of others but these stick out
