Re: Milwall Match Thread (22/2/11) Sponsored By Stone Island

Sounded like a pretty solid half. A goal by Noel early with us having the lion's share of the possesion with no shots on goal by Milwall. Hard to tell from the MBM at times but that is the impression I got...

I like the line-up. Great to see Cummings back in. He has had his ups and downs but the last few times he has been given a chance his form was much better.

Go URZZZZZZZ!!!

Re: Remaining Games

I wish I was optimistic about it...but I am not. We seem to be playing to the level of our opposition. We play the teams above us tough and end up with a lot of draws or close losses. Then we play the teams below us tough with a lot of draws and the occasional win. McD has leaned on the core of the ...

Re: Bring on the youth

As far as Long goes...as someone else noted here he'd probably take his chances riding the pine, waiting for his chance, with a PL league team rather than giving it another go with Reading. I am sure every player wants their shot at the big time and at this point I would doubt he'd turn it down if t...

Re: Back From The Game - Watford (H)

Very much agree and for once I would claim that "The Sig was bigger than the team"- in fact he's better than the whole of our current team put together and for all the fans who said they were expecting us to challenge as we only lost 1 player, are now being shown that they don't know a gr...

Re: Back From The Game - Watford (H)

Was speaking to a high name player after the game today, said he was disappointed with the performance but it wasn't through lack of effort, the team just have lost the winning touch. General consensus is the players really like BMD and want to play for him. A lot of the squad felt positive through...

Re: Bring on the youth

Probably a good thing to do from a business point of view. We are probably gonna lose any or all of Long, Kebe, McAnuff and Feds over the summer. It would be wise to see what if anything of value we have to replace them from within.

Re: 5th Round - Who do you want?

Everton it is then. Chelsea would have guaranteed I would be able to see the game in the States, with Fox Soccer's love affair with Chelsea and all, which I rarely do, but we probably stand a bit better chance against the Toffies.

Re: Watford (H) Match Thread - Tell Me When The Whistle Blows!

Ho hum...another scintillating sounding draw from us, the league's "Kings of the Draw". From the sounds of it we just didn't threaten the goal enough. Hunt's tally sounds like it was a major gaffe by their keeper. Other than that not much of anything of note happened in the opposing third....

Re: Memory Lane - Feel Good Thread

Being a relatively new fan for me it was our trip to Anfield last year. Being here in the States, and at work at the time, I was only able to follow it on the OS's MBM report. But I'll never forget that night... So I was very pumped when I found this on YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFDbk6...

Re: Chairman Backing

And as an aside, just to back-up my point from earlier on this thread about how the game is changing, I just read that the tickets for the UEFA Champions League Final, which will be held at Wembley this year, are going to run " £300, £225 and £150 plus a £26 "administration fee" "...

Re: Chairman Backing

Personally I prefer being competitive over being promoted. Maybe that's me being a Yank, but I like knowing every match has a potential of 3 points for us. Sure I'd love for us to spend some money on recognized talent, but I like it even more when we spot talent and keep it as long as we can. Of co...

Re: Chairman Backing

I dunno what to make out of all of this. To me a fan should look at the "big picture". Where we were when he took over and where we've ended up. Based on that how can you not support SJM? But ever since we weren't able to get back up in the intervening years since we've come back down it s...
