Re: Who first took you to football?

My Grandad took me for the first time against Aldershot, when we biked from Farley Hill when I was 7. When we played ...

Looks the image of Jordan Obita, but not as quick! Seemed ok though against Fallon who has lots of experience, and then went to right back for 2nd half and did good.

Re: Boot boys

All the Academy boys are allocated a range of jobs, not just cleaning players boots. Prized job is "tea boy" for making refreshments for management and coaches -- though pity the boy that had a smile on his face on a Monday if SSC had lost. Seriously it is one of the contributing factors a...

Re: Royals sign Jordan Obita

who have we lost lately that we really wanted to sign? Devine went to Villa for loads of money, and the Korean boys He and Sic went to Valecienne because of work permit problems. apart from that Steve Shorey and Steve Birchmore together with Eamonn have landed all their targets. Much more to come fr...

Re: McMessiah's Tactics

Of real significance is the number of players whose performance has greatly improved under BMc -- Long, Mills, Bryn, Jem added to the astute signings of Grif and the Russian General. Add that to tactics that come from analysing the opposition rather than coaching manuals, and substitutions that have...

Luke is Reserve physio, and Matt Hiron will step up from the Academy into his role, and a new Academy physio will be hired from the outside ( already done I think). So good bit of planning.

Re: Motivational management theory

Excellent post, that has captured most of what has gone wrong so far. If you add to it a load of management speak that means nothing, and hyperbole that is out of this world ( eg Alex Pearce is the next John Terry and then dropping him from the next SQUAD !) No wonder the team crumbles at the first ...
