Re: January Window

Never heard of him but if he’s super quick I wouldn’t say no. Personally, I am hoping that we sign Charlie Goode from Brentford as he’d be a sensible signing but that’s not always the Reading way these days. That hasn't been the Reading way since the Dai's arrived, the only sensible signing we have...

Re: Pauno out

This is the time to sack him really because any incoming manager knows exactly what squad they are working with as of tomorrow morning, last thing we want to do is leave the job open for a couple of weeks though and have to play a couple of our games, we'd need someone in as soon as possible. It do...

Re: The generic transfer thread

Romano reporting that Juventus have told Aaron Ramsey that he can leave - but that Ramsey can't find a club. Might end up at Rangers. Seems odd. Has his form really nosedived in Italy? Seems too good not to be playing. Would have thought he would have been right up Newcastle's alley? Knows the Prem...

Re: Rival Watch

Sunderland supporters will never be happy. They are in a decent position despite the Bolton defeat, they needed to just stick together and ride it out. I'm no fan of Lee Johnson but his dismissal is really unfair. I think it is partly due to a theme in away games there this year, this is their thir...

Re: BFTG QPR (a)

Not sure how many times people can blame zonal marking - isn’t my preference but it isn’t like we’re defending normal crosses where we’re supposed to be man to man marking very well anyway The fourth goal was awful defending (they all were really) but it struck me how easily QPR transitioned from GK...

Re: McNulty

Wasn't it Clement playing Meite on the right of 3 what basically made him as a player here. Debt of gratitude owed there. I think he also broke Rino into the side. Another debt owed there. Meite played in several positions under Clement IIRC, on the right, left, and centre. Certainly wasn’t consist...

Re: McNulty

We certainly have issues with just signing strikers who don't fit the system. Its difficult to ever judge if they are 'good enough'. they haven't been good enough to play in our systems certainly McNulty, Baldock, Puscas - all totally unsuited to 1 up top. All almost certainly play best alongside a...

Re: The generic transfer thread

Adama Traore leaves Wolves for......Barcelona :? Really think that’s a missed opportunity for some Prem teams - I’m looking at the likes of Spurs and West Ham here, to add some squad depth to depleted squads There’s still a lot of work in his game that needs refining (and I’m not sure it ever will ...

Re: The generic transfer thread

Calum Chambers joins Aston Villa on a free transfer. I don’t understand that, I thought Arsenal were fairly depleted at the back, I don’t see the harm in holding onto someone as versatile as him, even if he isn’t quite at the level. Same with AMN - it’s a risk from Arsenal

Re: Rival Watch

Well 5 points better, which would be a comfortable gap. We have been awful for a while now but we put in an improved performance on Saturday with players returning - it is fair to hope that as those players gel again (remember Yiadom/Rahman, will have barely trained with the team ahead of Saturday'...

Brogue this is someones suggestion on twitter, interesting to see tmac in dmc something a bit different

Extra couple of players may help but I still think Paunovic would find a way to lose

Re: Your XI and subs

4-2-3-1 Southwood Yiadom Morro Mcintyre Rahman Laurent Rinomhota Meite Swift Hoilett Joao Subs: Hein, Dann, Holmes, TDB, Ejaria, Halilovic, Puscas Think this is where I am at with the starting 11. I am flip flopping between Hoilett and Ejaria. Subs bench has a good mix...however I would like to see...

Re: Ex Players

Bodvarsson has joined Bolton on a 18 month deal from Millwall. Quite liked Bodvarsson but it never really seems to work out for him, every time he got on a scoring run here, he’d get injured. Don’t know how many starts he got but just 5 goals in two and a half seasons for Millwall

Re: Pauno out

I'm not looking forward to him coming back in. I'd like to see someone watch our first goal against Huddersfield and tell me with a straight face we'd have scored it with Ejaria over on the left wing. Maybe if you went to a game once in a while you'd see the whole pitch and how sides double up on h...

NathStPaul One of the Comoros goalkeepers has miraculously tested negative so is free to play. I call bullshit. AFCON didn't want the negative press.

Re: Relegation

I think Hull have a better side than both Peterborough and Barnsley though and I think momentum is exactly the reason they went down in their catastrophic season a couple of years ago as well. They lost their 2 best players but most of their other players were still of Championship quality, just pr...

Re: George Puscas leaving?

Still on board the diamond train personally. Works with someone competent at the base instead of Drinkwater. Laurent is pretty much the only midfielder that can do that role. Said before but you’re really wasting Rinomhota asking him to play that role. I think McIntyre could develop into that role ...
