Re: Who Should Be The Next Penalty Taker?

It has to be Harte. Penalties and free kicks are the only things he's ever been any good at. It's not like we bought him for his turn of pace.

Re: Naughty Rooney

Cheryl Cole doesn't count because she has her own career and was famous before she married Cashley. Coleen is famous because of Rooney. Would she get modelling jobs if it wasn't for him? She's pretty but she's not exactly Giselle.

Re: Detailed interview with Brian

I'd prefer Barcelona to love us more than Hoffenhiem .

Wally Downes went to Lyon's training ground a few years ago to learn from their coaches it didn't mean a load of their players came over here.

Re: Detailed interview with Brian

I'd expect any club looking to sign one of our players to go to games under their own steam because that is common procedure. I certainly wouldn't allow them into our training sessions as they would be a distraction to the other players and imo playing hard to get as it were would drive the price up...

Re: Detailed interview with Brian

Yes but sometimes club A does a little more to fight it than allowing the Chief Scout of club B into training and driving him to games to watch the player. Sometimes like Martin O'Neill club A's manager walks out because the owner wants to sell to club B and won't reinvest the money recieved. Someti...

Re: Detailed interview with Brian

The better Academy "starlets" could be sold off to cover the amount of money it takes to maintain academy status, the average Academy players could be left behind to make up the majority of the team and when that happens you get a situation like Crewe. Rightly or wrongly a precedent has be...

Re: SPECULATION: Michael Kightly

I'm sure we had Kightly on trial a few years ago and he wasn't deemed good enough. So why is he good enough now?

Obviously he's had more experience since then but he's also had a long term injury.

Re: Detailed interview with Brian

A higly frank and honest interview with a guy who has integrity. Its just a shame that many of the "experts" on these boards will dismiss his words, prefering to rely on their far more detailed knowledge of the innermost workings of the club; I'm also sure that they will see Brian as a Mr...

Re: "One More Player"

It's OUR academy it should benefit OUR team for more than one season before we sell. We produce a good player get 7 million that pays for people like Harte who are way past their best before date and repeat the process again and again. Clubs like Hoffenheim profit and we stay at the same level with ...

When McD came in he decided to build the team and formation around Gylfi. Anyone who says we won't miss him are either blind, high or just plain deluded.

Re: Harte Signs

I wouldn't accept any money for him especially when the team is built around him. I'd look at every possible way to get the 4 million, selling the Stadium naming rights, getting rid of the outlay for unnecessary managerial positions like DoF or even god help me raising ST Prices anything that would ...

Re: Gylfi is leaving Reading

Great move for him. And a move to a club where he'll get some games, in the best league in Europe for nurturing youth, is better than going to benchwarm at Arsenal. Quite funny to see criticism on here from people who've never watched a Bundesliga match. Really pleased for him with regard to the le...

YES!!! Ian Harte and Lee Hendrie all within 24 hours GTFI. That really makes up for losing the best player outside of the Premier League.

Re: Harte Signs

Not likely. Griffin had consistently played in the Premier League for years. Harte's standard slipped from that level a long time ago. What happened to the policy of young hungry players? The academy is recruiting. Sorry, just remembered we sell our best young players so other clubs can get the ben...
