Re: Ngel Howe on radio

Hi Stranded - please explain about the losses. Don't the accounts say we lost about £40m? Add to this the losses for the last two seasons as well how can we be below the 39m limit for 3 seasons? Hope you are right about the FFP. Agree though it doesn't seem to matter as much now Find the write up S...

Re: Ngel Howe on radio

Howe was saying how big a mess we are in and the only answer was to sell players. But why no mention of penalties for FFP? Am I missing something? No-one seems to be mentioning this. I can understand that it may be waived for this season but over the last 3 seasons we were way over the 39m loss. So...

Re: Finance

We're not even very good at cooking the books by the look of it. £26 mill for the Madejski? Derby sold basically an identical stadium for £80million and do you know how cheap a semi in Derby is compared to a semi in Whitley? It's not hard to pin point where its going wrong with the club. That overp...

Re: Finance

This would have been a major story but for all thats going on. Normally this would have resulted in a big points reduction which if the season finished now at it was 9 its then we would be safe on goal difference only subject to any others also getting points deductions. They are talking about FFP b...

Re: Jimmy Wheeler RIP

Met him in Henry St garden centre with Gordon Neate about 2./3 years ago. He joked he was still a better header than Gordon even though he was only about 5'6'' and Gordon well over 6' Said at that time he still was a guest at Bradford but not at Reading. The old equivalent of Jamie Cureton with a Mi...

Re: BFTG Bristol citeh.

I put tonights defeat down to Bowen. Puscas on his own up front when we are at home. It was a very defensive and negative formation. If we don't believe we can beat teams like City when we are at home then we deserve to be where we are. Another defeat at Cardiff and we could be back in the relegatio...

Re: BFTG Leeds

Predictable scoreline, could sense that although Leeds weren't creating anything, they were gonna get one chance and one goal. Just like last season, it's only against us they score their chance Feel Bowen, whilst set us up well, is at fault. Possession of the ball was sloppy other than Ejaria and ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Preston North End (h) sponsored by a new hope

Completely different style of play. Clear at all times in defence no matter where. Close down all the time. Hit long balls over the top.Take no chances. Its the sort of style you need to grab at least a point. We just about edged it by bringing Preston down to our level. Will probably work well away...

Re: Next Manager

I would have liked to see him as the manager. Decent boss who knows his stuff in this league. Long had his day I think. Seeing Parky appointed at Sunderland makes you reflect on those that said he wasn't ready for Reading and then we appoint someone with no managerial experience. I think also worry...

Re: Next Manager

Or that following the shoddy process of hiring Gomes, the club decided to get some form of succession planning in place so brought Bowen in as a consultant initially to see how he works - they liked what they saw so created a new role for him to have more of a say in transfer dealings and all footb...

Re: Next Manager

Apparently Bowen is favourite with the bookies. What the actual oxf*rd oxf*rd? yes, don't think that would please anyone. I'm not too sure where that has come from tbh, not actually seen anything concrete to back it up Now 1/3 on Skybet. Doubt its just guessing. This will go down like a lead balloo...

Re: GOMES OUT!

Christ, if the conclusion is that our squad is worse now than at the end of last season despite making 9 signings, choosing to let three or four players go and freezing out another three, that's pretty much a sackable offence on it's own. Agreed. Much as I like him for his commitment with these pla...

Re: BFT whatever the hell that was

I think Gomes is trying to play continental football in the championship and it isn't working. Mowbray said our players are technically gifted but if you take the ball off them it pays dividends.. I felt sorry for Yiadom as he is being asked to play a role he isn't suited. We can't play 3 creative pl...
