Re: MATCHWATCH : Stoke City (a)

I think that's the third time Holmes has stepped in from RB to intercept a dangerous cut back in a central position. Risky as it leaves a huge gap down their left but so far it's worked well

Re: MATCHWATCH : Stoke City (a)

Personally quite enjoying the Stoke BBC comms team. Intrigued by what the "Two Carolines" wrote in to earn a mid match shout-out

Re: Diego Rossi

Certainly some very outdated opinions on the standard of the MLS these days. It's a long way from the retirement league that Beckham moved to for big fanfare. Its much more technical and the vast majority of teams try to play in the modern possession heavy style. There has been huge investment into ...

Re: Ex Players

Nice to see Jem getting some mins at League 2 Scunny, some real glowing references and nice to see him throwing himself around in the middle of the pitch - https://twitter.com/WillWattoom/status/1354173369999101953 . 300 Mins over 4 games with an average rating of 7.11 on WhoScored. Fully fit he is ...

Re: Best player you've ever seen play against us

Could do a whole XI of Arsenal players probably. Henry is the obvious one as mentioned, but Fabregas in the same match was not far off, and Walcott, Cazorla, and Sanchez each put us to the sword with help from the likes of Wilshere, Oezil, and Oxlade-Chamberlain. That’s too many attacking midfielde...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Coventry City (h)

Do we have to pay everytime semedo doesn't make an appearance or something? Featured in every game since he signed. Similar with Esteves who has played in all but two (one of which was straight after he signed)... Definitely strikes me as a plausible theory that there is something in the loan deals...

3 minutes and a goal later they clock on. Blamed because of "the chaos"... Presumably the chaos of the referee showing a red card, and the player walking off? Amateur hour

Re: Rumour - Richards to Everton

Not sure the comparisons with Dale Jennings and Aaron Tshibola are relatable. Jennings was signed as a 18yo with 32 professional games played at league 1, so signed for £0.5-1.7m (depending on source, but peanuts for Bayern) based off potential that didn't materialise (with some knee ligament injuri...

Re: Pedro Mendes

This one is cropping up again - whether he gets enough points to get a permit now though is another question. Due to his age we might be able to get one for “outstanding talent” but it doesn’t seem very likely that it would be successful. Mendes is 21 and has not played a full international appeara...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Birmingham City (h) sponsored by an utter shambles

May have missed this, but presume Meite cant be subbed off as we have made 3 batches of subs. Thought at the time Esteves coming on a minute after Semedo was odd- clearly should have been double sub given the 5 sub rule.

Edit - Mick and Tim now clocked on

bcubed
Snowflake Royal That was not the time to take someone on from Ejaria with a massive hole behind him to break into with numbers.

sounds familiar

High risk, high reward player in 'risk doesn't always pay off' shocker.

If it never went wrong, he would be in the champions league

Bristol Paul Olise needs to get in the game

Would much rather he had quiet games on TV and tore it up when only we were watching :?

Re: MATCHWATCH : Sheffield Wednesday (a) sponsored by Jack Witham

Squad depth is basically ok. Missing 4 big players in Yiadom, Swift, Puscas and Meite and still pretty strong I’m not sure I agree with that. We don’t have any players we can throw on off the bench which give you confidence they can go and get you that win. I think with everyone fully fit, only fou...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Sheffield Wednesday (a) sponsored by Jack Witham

Pulis' HT changes made it much harder to make chances - we didn't really create a huge amount in the second half for all our possession apart from 4 penalty shouts. Aluko/Baldock really don't offer a plan B off the bench, and Esteves didn't offer as much as hoped. TBH not too mad - second consecutiv...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Sheffield Wednesday (a) sponsored by Jack Witham

Equalizer came from a FK won by Richards. Given so much of our attacking threat has come from set pieces this season, getting forward and winning free kicks is an underappreciated part of his game.

He wins 2.4 free kicks/90, only behind Olise (2.7) and Ejaria (2.6)

Disappointed at his lack of celebration.

Has every right to give it the biggun for not making him their main man

Phenomenal goal line clearance.

Great play by Richards to beat his man and get a good shot away.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Sheffield Wednesday (a) sponsored by Jack Witham

Don’t think I’ve ever seen him use his right foot. He’s basically the Reading Robben. But better. To be fair to Ian, its only taken Olise's 2,700 minutes over 43 appearances to clock his very obvious left footedness  And on cue a right foot shot    his 4th right footed shot of...
