Re: BFTG - Peter's Borough

Right. Except for the fact that he only lost the ball 7 times last night. Tackled twice and 2 misplaced passes. He might run straight at his man but it progresses the ball a fair bit and he was the one who played the, simple, but very effective pass to Swift for our 3rd. By the eye test he was poor...

Re: BFTG - Peter's Borough

I still think he has value beyond just plain goals and assists. Any team that didn't close him down would be made look foolish. The fact they have to pay close attention to him gives us a lot more breathing room in attack. They don't need to close him down, he just runs straight to the nearest defe...

Re: BFTG - Peter's Borough

Just on Drinkwater,I mentioned a few days ago that my son saw him play for Chelsea in a pre-season game at Bournemouth and ,bearing in mind that as a Chelsea fan he has never been impressed by Drinkwater, he said that he was the best player on the pitch. Seemingly the player hasn't caught the Readi...

Re: Goalkeeper situation now Rafael injured

If him and Morrison had an argument that ended up in a punch being thrown then despite the injury to Rafael, good, shows frustration and a want to be better. Will likely serve us well over time. Interesting take, would your manager/HR have the same opinion if you did that to a colleague in the work...

Re: BFTG - Peter's Borough

The one thing that still amazes me about Ejaria is how long Liverpool held on to him before his permanent deal. Bags of ability, but he/the club just can't harness it. I still think he has value beyond just plain goals and assists. Any team that didn't close him down would be made look foolish. The...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Peterborough United (h)

There's not really anything wrong with goals coming from midfield, we've done it before when Sigurdsson score 16 in the 09/10 season, goals are goals after all. It seems Swift is playing in a more advanced role this season and thriving, long may it continue. I don’t even know why teams bother with ...

Re: Pauno out

We are all after a common goal here. We all want Reading FC to do well. We haven’t been doing well for a long time. If we turn this around and start doing well pauno will of course have my backing. A win against the shittest team in the league that dominated us in the first half isn’t isn’t going t...

Re: BFTG - Peter's Borough

windermereROYAL Ejaria looked far from happy for being subbed in front of the east stand last night, the walk around the pitch could not have been slower.

That's just the pace he plays at let alone walks back to the bench

Re: Injury watch 2021/22

We've been conceding almost 3 goals a game. Last night 1. Surely anyone from that prior run has to force their way back in through good sub performances or bad incumbent ones, rather than waltz back when fit. What happened to playing your way back into the side from the bench after injury? Southwood...

Re: BFTG - Peter's Borough

Have to say I agree with the comments about Swift saving Pauno's job. That was exactly my thought when the goal went in. It could just save our season because until that point we had not really looked like scoring and looked devoid of confidence. After the Swift goal we looked much better. Goals br...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Peterborough United (h)

Our only recognised striker lacking goals. Could be a problem Not if Swift scores a goal a game. TDB contributing. True, I think relying on goals coming purely from midfield isn’t great. But if that’s our option then let’s hope it continues Also can’t see swift scoring 46 goals this season But if h...

Re: Goalkeeper situation now Rafael injured

Southwood looked very assured this evening and should only get better with more first team games under his belt, and with Andresson and CBC waiting in the wings then the keeping department looks to be in good hand for the next ten years or so. Regarding Rafael, he has done pretty well and is a stea...

Swift just an absolute joy to have in the side at the moment. Didn’t play brilliantly but that goal…so impt as well Thought Hoilett did well and Puscas had a strong game Puscas has been pretty good this season. Just lacking the goals. But causing problems, working hard. Contributing. . Our only rec...

Jackson Corner I can’t divulge my sauces needless to say it is someone who works at the club.

Assume he was aiming for Moore and missed.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Peterborough United (h)

Well certainly take that We really do look a lovely side coming forward at times but just don’t do it enough. That little spell between going 1-0 up and their goal we looked a cracking side But the defence still a concern. The conceded goal was horrible again. Heart in mouth every cross that comes ...

Re: Goalkeeper situation now Rafael injured

Shame it wasn't a clean sheet, but couldn't have asked for much more from Southwood today. A couple of decent saves, and looked confident coming for crosses. Very good except the one he juggled, and still did enough to keep it safe without the inexplicable freekick. Imagine getting a fk for ballsin...
