Re: Rodgers - let us all get some perspective

If we give Rodgers a chance my prediction for the season is. First 10 games - a struggle Second 10 games - gradually get our act together Third 10 games - start to climb the table Next 10 games - reach the top 10 End of season - achieve top 10 finish and maybe just maybe sneak a play off spot agains...

Re: Are the kids alright?

Frankly the rubbish written by the original poster probably is not worth responding to but I can't resist. Rodgers has a difficult job to do. He (and most of us) have no idea what his best team is yet. He had to give the youngers a chance - some will do well - some will go back out on loan - that is...

Rodgers - let us all get some perspective

I was a great supporter of Steve Coppell, but by the end of his time here he was clearly drained and had nothing left to give. The team was in free fall when you look at results after January. Clearly a great deal of change was needed going forwards and Rodgers promised that. Most of us thought he w...

Re: Random rumours

Marek was 1.42M and Mills 1.1M possibly rising to 2M with add ins so Marek has the most expensive player tag - at least for now.

Re: What the papers say: Doncaster

Doncaster had a brilliant run at the end of last season and rose from bottom to about 14th. They are not a bad side so it was never going to be an easy game. The fact we largely dominated it is relatively good news.

Re: Back from the game..... Donny Rovers

Dreadful watch today. Kebe had one of his off days, to put it mildly. Terrible performance. Howard and O'Dea looked good. Howard one of our more competent players goign forward and O'Dea solid as you like. Cummings, wtf? He looked petrified of the ball every time he touched it, like he'd been livin...

Re: Back from the game..... Donny Rovers

Im not gonna start preaching how good we are now, because we aren't yet , but its so obvious to me that IF Rodgers gets this style right, we will be very very good, and also have a team with a lot of years ahead of them. To start asking for the Coppell style back after the hammering it got on here ...

Re: RUMOUR: Gaël Kakuta

I have heard in the past from Reading sources that Lyskov was one of our big hopes for the future. He seems to have upped and left. Does anyone know what the rules are regarding under 18 players that have been in the Academy for years. Surely they must be tied to the club in some way as otherwise t...

Re: Loanwatch 09-10

Can't help feeling that there is a touch of James Lambert about him. Have to agree with this. The guy clearly has the ability, but just get the feeling he will waste it all. This is the danger with so many youngsters these days. They get a pro contract and they think that they have made it and go r...

Re: Loanwatch 09-10

Let us hope that he just needs a good loan and comes back raring to go. I think we all want local lads to do well and I still hope that he makes it here but as I have said elsewhere he does not seem to have made the progress that I am sure the club would have expected.

http://footytweets.com/reading/news/143737 Rosenior expressing his thoughts on the move. Thought this was an appropriate thread? Usual footballer banality there from Liam. Well he quickly got over his desire to stay at Reading and make the Premier League with us. Just shows he's media aware, if not...

The Kebe haters will never agree but his very unpredictability creates goals and he is a must start for me.

Re: How long has Long got?

The problem with Shane is that each season he seems to have to learn how to play all over again. Last season he was poor to start with but then became arguably our most effective player in the last 10-15 games. This season he has been disappointing again so far - seems to have lost a yard of pace an...

Re: who do you like, from the current crop of youngsters?

No one knows for sure which of our young players will make the grade and those on here that are critical of a 20 year old are being ridiculous. Some players like Wayne Rooney mature young - others much later. Just from our own recent experience just look at the Hunt brothers. Few would deny that Noe...

Re: Season/Team Fears & Concerns - Season Review Pending

I think the team has a good mid to long term future. Don't expect to much this season, it's a year of transition. Gylfi and Karacan look quality prospects, but Pearce needs to loose the captaincy and get his head sorted. The rest all look Div 1 at best. The signings look to be a good piece of busin...

Re: Season/Team Fears & Concerns - Season Review Pending

My main concern is the fixture list. In our first 15 games we are due to play 9 of the teams that I expect to be in the top 10 (excluding RFC) at the end of the season. These are Newcastle, Sheff Unt, Cardiif, Preston, Boro, WBA, QPR, Leicester and Coventry. The only other top team we are missing is...
