Re: Sheffield Utd - Back from the game

I think Stam is getting a bit of unfair criticism regarding the transfer activity over the summer, and it is in fact Gourlay and Tevreden who should be on the receiving end of it. No doubt it was identified we needed one or two further additions up top, but at the end of the day Jaap isn't the man ...

Re: In or Out?

Dutch football is out of date. No surprise to see Dutch Managers being sacked. Can't be a coincidence. The Dutch Managers have had enough time to make things right. Stam needs to wake up and smell the roses or rather Tulips. Chinese seem to have given him the funds and backing. So the owners are ok ...

Re: In or Out?

I do kind of agree with Samuel to an extent Said at the time we should have held onto him for August and let him go before the transfer window shut Though obvs there would have been a fair chance he'd have got injured in that time and scuppered the transfer Probably better to give a years contract ...

If you haven't found a striker during the window why the hell didn't we keep the strikers we loaned out and sold.

Re: Conor Shaughnessy rated?

Very surprised to see him at Leeds. Probably less surprised to see him in defence. Big guy who sometimes filled in at centre back late on or in pre-season. Pretty ordinary midfielder. Not uncommon for players like that to move to a more defensive position and not have to lean so much on their techn...

Re: Renewed pessimism/interest

Secondly, what I really don't get is that Stam played for Man Utd for three years when they won the premier three times, the FA Cup and the Champions League. You couldn't be more successful, but what I do know is they didn't play anything like this style of football. So does he believe he has an in...

Re: In or Out?

100% in. But cant see the Chinese giving him any more money for a decent striker due to the amount
spent already. Too be honest I don't think Stam ever thought he needed an out and out striker so to get
one in Jan when Yann is back is going to be difficult.

Re: Reading Career - Minutes per Goal etc

But most of them are midfielders, some of them defensive midfielders, and a goal every 3 games equates to 15 a season. That's a huge expectation for a midfielder (Darren Caskey and Gylfi are the only midfielders in living memory to achieve that for Reading, one was a set piece specialist, the other...

Control Freak. His way or no way. It's everyone's else's fault it's not mine. The makings of a top class defender. Not a top class Manager.

Re: Under 23"s Supposedly not ready for first team football.

It seems ludicrous to me that a Premier League club would shut down it's academy, they can easily afford it. Hopefully the FA look into the reasons why they would shut down their academy because if they want England to a force at the International stage, they can't have a scenario where a top divis...

Re: Under 23"s Supposedly not ready for first team football.

A valid point but was Bath City a good loan choice for Kelly? Maybe, maybe not but he sure made the best of it. Kelly didn't play a lot of games and was sub more often then not for Bath city and if the truth be known was not rated. however he certainly proved them wrong now and shows that if the ha...

Re: Under 23"s Supposedly not ready for first team football.

Nothing to do with Kuhl's own attitude? He had multiple loans and did pretty much oxf*rd all. If you can't hold down a place at Boreham Wood on loan, you're not trying hard enough. I'd love it if he popped up somewhere and really made a name for himself, but I think he went all Billy big spuds afte...

Re: Under 23"s Supposedly not ready for first team football.

Could the lack of academy players breaking though into the first team be a sign that our academy isn't producing the right quality of players? - Is this a knock on from Eamon Dolan's replacement not being as good or something? Maybe this is why Martin Kuhl has been replaced? What lack of academy pl...

Re: BFTG (H) Brizzle

I don't think you understand what route one is/was. Adkins and Clarke teams were also guilty of over playing. Certainly wasn't route one. Nor was BMs team really. This question proves my point really. Either you play like Barcelona or you play like John Becks Cambridge? Ridiculous. I don't particul...

Re: Our Strongest Championship side??

:?: Moore is undoubtedly top 10 in the league, if not top 3. At times last year, we were playing a very callow Blackett and Joey at the back, and others with Gunter at CB. Or the likes of inexperienced and rusty Oxford. Realistically this really shouldn't happen this year. You'd genuinely do well to...

Re: Our Strongest Championship side??

Think our squad is upper mid table. Hopefully with decent management we can push further than that. It was more than one mistake and yes he had a bad day at the office but the best that can be said is that he has the potential to be one of the best but he has to get these silly mistakes out of his ...

Re: CONFIMRED: Sone Aluko

More recently, of course, we had Vydra who very quickly became their target (because of the loan fee and perceived wages). Bullshit. Vydra was a "target" because he came with expectations that he would replicate his Watford form as a clinical finisher, however as it turned out couldn't hi...
