Re: The Bargain Bucket List

Still Hate Futcher! Am I missing something here? How can £200,000 a week Ashley Cole feature in the same thread as the word 'bargain'!

You may be missing the colour coding ... blue for bargains ... but maybe not

"Can we pull it off and stay up?"

Pulling it off and staying "up" is pretty tricky tbf, particularly for the older nobbers........

Re: Worth a gamble

Readingfc0009 Why get to the prem if your not willing to gamble to stay there tho?

One reason would be because you can't afford the stakes - there are probably other reasones too.

Re: Worth a gamble

Readingfc0009 So if survival in the premiership is worth £40 million surely its worth a gamble to invest £20 million in jan and try and stay up?

Two questions :
1) What odds are you looking at ?
2) Can you afford to lose £20m ?

Re: Danny Guthrie - Refusing To Travel

Anyone who can see the POV of a marginalised player an f*ck off? Right. No doubt you see yourself as a lone voice of rationality, but at the end of the day there are different view points and telling someone to f*ck off just because they hold a different one to yours is embarrassing in itself. Mana...

Re: Danny Guthrie - Refusing To Travel

Refusing to travel all the way up to Sunderland just to sit on a freezing cold bench for 2 hours makes him a piece of shit person?

Yep. That's his job - he takes the cash, he should do the job.

Re: Danny Guthrie - Refusing To Travel

If I was a player going up to Sunderland on a freezing Tuesday to try to get a result, I'd be a tad pissed off if a team mate decided he didn't think it was worth the trip ... some players might admire him for making a stand, but tbh I think most would think wtf.

Re: Four years in the Championship

AbovetheI Just a quick random thought.... Ever since div 1 was changed to the Championship, we've won it twice, which makes us (and possibly Sunderland) the team who has won it the most times, right?

Yep - but we got more points in our 2 wins so I say the kudos belongs to us alone

Re: Roberts Red Card

Typical bullshit from D'Urso. The offence relating to the situation where the ball may contact the arm/hand of a player is given for 'deliberate handball'. If it isn't intentional - it isn't a foul. Intent removed from the game?? My arse! What a pcunt. http://ar.fifa.com/mm/document/affederation/ge...

Re: Roberts Red Card

And also, if we appealed, the ban wouldn't come into effect until after the appeal, potentially meaning Roberts would be available for brum, but then the 3 games would all be at the start of next season. On a slightly different note, what would happen if we sold Roberts? Would the ban go with him? ...

Re: Roberts Red Card

Appears Parr twice tries to pull Roberts back by his right arm. Second time Robert's pushes Parr's arm off and catches his face in the process. So first offence from Parr, but you could argue 'retaliation' from Roberts. Parr only shoves Roberts in the back and catches his legs after being caught in ...

Re: Late goals against

Wasn't it until Cardiff that we never gave goals away at the end? Couldn't keep that going forever +1 it all evens out in the end Unless its a last minute goal in the final game of the season that stops us from getting in the play offs, then it doesn't even itself out really. Does if we were only i...

Re: Late goals against

I'm a great believer in the law of averages, specially in football. We got a few breaks like late goals in the unbeaten 13 match run (or whatever it was), and now the breaks are going against us. We were either sh1t before (and lucky) and sh1t now and (unlucky) or we were average before (and lucky)...
