Re: CONFIRMED - David Button

Reasonably happy with this, good track record back in the day, can hardly be worse than Lumley or Bouzanis. Would personally have given the gloves to Jokull (actually I’d have renewed Southwood but that ship has sailed) but if Selles doesn’t feel comfortable with that then I think Button is probably...

Re: Tyler Bindon confirmed

The interview with him makes it clear that his mum got a job in the area and the family moved with her. In that circumstance, rules around transfer of teenagers across borders wouldn’t apply. I would guess that he has settled status and thus wouldn’t need a work permit. But he’s been training with t...

Re: Summer 2023 Transfer Speculation

Even with Fiorini and Savage, that still leaves us a little light in that area, in terms of natural midfield players anyway. We all know we can't rely on Hutch. Savage, Wing, and Rushesha is perfectly adequate numbers wise if we’re playing with a midfield two. If we signed Fiorini or Weir then we w...

Re: New GK

Got the same agent as Tom McIntyre. Cheap and available. Not sure what to make of him but I suppose you don't spend 6 years at United if you're completely shit unless your name is Phil Jones. McIntyre recently changed representation and is now represented by Jem Karacan and Brian Howard. Are they r...

Re: Injury watch 2023/24

2005/06 team had Shorey, Sidwell and Kitson go down injured at the same time. At one point we had to play Sekou Baradji. Of the first XI, it was only really Marcus, Ivar, Sonko, Harper and Convey who made it through the season unscathed. And two of them picked up career-changing injuries early the n...

Re: “ Sell before we Dai “ supporters action group v2.2

If Dai does not have the money or can not pay , any protest on the pitch is madness . Need to continue to try to get a sale . I suggest a protest outside the Chinese embassy, and through the MP contacts get a meeting with the Chinese ambassador, Chinese do not like to be embarrassed. This way you g...

Re: MATCHWATCH : QPR

Holmes is definitely the smarter of the two, if he wasn't a footballer he'd have no trouble getting a degree (and at one stage he was considering giving up in order to go that way). His dad is a professor of engineering at Imperial, Tom's not on that level by any means but he's bright. McIntyre is a...

Re: Sam Smith confimred

Name them, asides from kebe or HRK. McAnuff, Kebe, HRK. McCleary was signed going in to the next season. He was definitely behind all of them, and rightfully so. So yeah. Roughly right come the pre-season he left. Had we not gone up, Kebe probably would have left, we probably wouldn’t have signed M...

Re: Sam Smith confimred

You're not counting the cost of their wages then? See my last post. Loan them out and get the other clubs to cover the wages then sell them when they return This is what Chelsea do with some success so not that crazy a notion. Chelsea don't tend to sign random cast-offs on free transfers. They pay ...

Re: Selles confimred

Has he announced any backroom staff that are joining alongside him as I saw this comment on Twitter: ...Walcott is off as he wants to go into coaching... Surely if this is true he'd train up alongside his old boss? Suspect the appeal of playing for Selles in League One was partially because he coul...

Re: Sam Smith confimred

Always been a sweet striker of the ball but didn't really look like he was up to it in the Championship.

He's developed into, at the least, a respectable League One striker.

The main question is whether we'll actually be able to create chances for him.

Re: The squad in July

One year deal for Dorsett. Can see it now, this will be his breakthrough season and he will be another one that slips through the net on a free transfer next summer. But now we are back to Cat 1 we would be due significant compensation payment should we offer a new contact and he refuses and goes e...

Re: HMRC Winding up petition/order

I don't think playing U23 football is anything to write home about. It's nothing compared to senior football, even at National League level. Yes, I probably wouldn't be integrating many/any players into the first team off the back of a NL loan spell unless it was something special, but a lot of the...

How many times in the last 5 years has your optimist view been proven accurate in the medium term stranded? At some point you are going to need to open your eyes. Fool you once, shame on the club. Fool you 7 times, shame on you. :| Who cares? I don’t know about you, but I don’t follow Reading so I ...
