Re: Rival Watch

AthleticoSpizz Sadly (for some) you will miss out on the treat that is Morecambe…..didn’t quite scrape through the cut

Been there, only shame they went down is we'd beat them twice. Their ground is non-league standard really

Re: Rival Watch

Looking forward to going to the Abbey Stadium next season, I haven’t been there for years. Obviously, I would rather we’d stayed up but there are some cracking away trips in League One. I’m planning on going to every game home and away. Also, looking forward to a trip to Fratton Park. Bar my holida...

Re: Rival Watch

CountryRoyal Who do we want coming up from the L2 playoffs?

For me Carlisle (or Mansfield if they make it).

This. We'd probably beat both of them twice. Salford or Stockport would be harder but both are new grounds

Re: Rival Watch

Derby look like an improving side. Next season I suspect will be their time. Warne has em playing some good football. Even with 10 men. Done well really with the rebuild they have had to go through. Yeah I expect Derby to improve next season. Not sure if they'll get top 2 though as they still have ...

Re: George Puscas leaving?

Puscas showed glimpses of class with us. Some quality goals like Cardiff and Barnsley at home and Wigan away. If we used him better maybe he'd be off to a premier league side and we'd have made a profit on him.

I'm disappointed he couldn't play up front on his own though as he's a fairly big striker

Re: New manager rumours and speculation

We need a manager who is positive but not a pushover and won't tolerate bad performances. Can improve the players and tactically use them to their strengths, stop our defence leaking goals, build a system that creates us lots of chances and scores goals etc. It doesn't matter if they were good playe...

I really don't trust Dai to appoint a good manager. Bet it'll be the same rubbish and we appoint someone like Steve Kean

tmesis
Royal_jimmy Yay. €4m will help us massively.

Getting £20000 a week off the wage bill will help massively.

£15,000 and it'll be £9,000 now we're in league one

scumbag I'd take Warburton

Forgot about him. He got Brentford up to the championship from league one. Probably still lives locally too

Re: Revised new manager poll

How many of the managers mentioned on this thread are already employed by other clubs and which are unemployed? Jones, Cowley and Critchley are all available. Wellens and Cotterell are with clubs at our level so not sure why they'd leave to join us/why we'd pay money to get them. Most of the others...

Re: Mark Bowen

How long has Bowen's son been in place? Injuries have been terrible here for years and years. I don't think they've ever been as bad as they were over the past year. And even if he was only recruited a year ago, you'd like to think you would see an improvement with the right person in charge. We we...

Re: Mark Bowen

I trust Bowen for the most part, but his son being head of sports science does concern me. I would hope that our medical and fitness department would be given an overhaul given the injuries over the last two or three years. That doesn't seem likely if Bowen Sr is making that decision. Wow! I didn't...

Re: George Puscas leaving?

I feel sorry for Puscas. We never really played to his strengths or got the best out of him. The right move for all parties.

We need to use the money wisely in league one. His transfer fee could fund 4-5 good players in L1 for 3 years

Re: George Puscas leaving?

tidus_mi2 That's another £3.5m to potentially play with next season.

We probably won't get the whole fee up front

I heard they're about to go into administration again. I hope that's true as the points deduction will help us given we indeed challenge at the top of the league. I fancy Wigan to be amongst the very top of the league

Re: As The Dust Settles - The Sombre Thread

... an enjoyable promotion chase followed, if successful, by not just guaranteed losing and being patronised the next season. Which is what follows a Championship promotion. Agree. 100% not fussed about the PL, but (eventual) promotion from L1 will be sweet. Will it? Better than losing every week t...
